Hisui notices the lean and moves a little bit closer. Close enough that there could be no doubt about how affectionate the two are, if someone walked in. A difficult task, given that the Utaku deliberately chose the most secluded of the dojo training rooms. She takes a bite, allowing her a moment to think about which bit of news to speak of first.
"There is no blood feud between the Kakita and Mirumoto," she says. She pauses, letting that sink in a moment, before she continues. "I spoke to Mirumoto Noboru-san earlier, and he's spoken to Kakita Tsuki-san, the Crane Thunder's daughter. As far as Kakita Meta-dono is concerned, there was no blood feud at all. It was never official. The Clan Champions never approved any of this."
"The entire blood feud is a lie."

Fuyu takes a breath, then another. "I am not surprised." she says softly as she looks down. "I have had more then one criminal try to use the feud to escape justice. Crane and Dragon alike. It also does not sound like Meta-dono to leave such things festering for so long. He is a confrontational man. It was odd he had a feud and did not come to claim his due. This...this is unfortunate though. So many died for a lie. If there was none there is now." She says calmly, almost coldly.

"Yes," Hisui says. She wasn't part of the feud, but she could feel the pain of loss. She understood the weight it had, the pull it had. The rage it could bring forth, if allowed to fester. "Mirumoto-san...did not take it well. And I don't think he's taking Aiko-chan's approach of waiting out those responsible for it well, either. I suggested a plan that might bait the culprits out, but...well, I imagine it will likely be rejected by Aiko-chan outright and will probably infuriate you."
"And I love you enough to tell you what it is, if you ask. No matter how angry you might be at me for suggesting it."

Fuyuko frowns slightly at her. "Oh..what is your plan then?" she asks cautiously, worried but trying to make sure it's not as bad as she fears.

"To give appearance of confrontation," she says, fretting nervously. "To spread word, weeks ahead of time, that Kakita Meta was coming here to settle the matter. News outlets, rumors, Miya Heralds. Build up the event so that it becomes too big for anyone to silence or look away from, to hopefully force the parties responsible closer to the surface. Easier to find."
"And when he does arrive, have both Thunders publicly, undeniably, denounce the feud."

Fuyuko frowns and shakes her head. "Unless the cause of the feud is a lie as well, I do not see that being wise or respectful. Why not just have them settle the mater. Duel to first blood."

"Because as I understand it, someone has silenced Meta-dono's statements saying that there was never a feud. It's what led the students to suspect a third party is engineering the feud to sow conflict," she says, sighing heavily. "But yes, you're right. It's not a good plan. And I'm glad I didn't propose it to Aiko-chan when we spoke earlier."
"I'm sorry for thinking so foolishly. But I have people dear to me on both sides," she says, reaching out a hand.

Fuyuko takes a deep breath. "If they actually solve the matter that might work. Or if the Kakita return the Daisho. Or... hmm. I have an idea. I will defend the next assault on Ninten or the Kitsuki Method."

She smiles. Simple actions. A Crane reaching out to aid the Dragon. A Dragon putting aside his anger, even for a little while. Small things that, if taken together, could mend the resentment and the calls for vengeance and revenge. Certainly more practical than the grand spectacle she had in mind.
"I was right," she comments, remembering a conversation earlier. "You are the sensible one between the two of us. And I am sure that at least some of the Dragon will appreciate the gesture. It'd be a start."
