Mako sat with a tray of only fruit in the cafeteria. She seemed intent on not eating normal food at all, and instead sat with a dozen pieces of sliced fruit, which she was slowly adding to a single bowl as she sliced it. Next to her was a few stacks of paper, each at least fifty sheets high. And Mako was apparently ignoring the unfinished stacks, happy enough with the one that she had already gone through.
A close look would show it's a lot of budget sheets, contracts, government forms, and other tedious bullshit. The first, finished stack doesn't seem recognizable, but the other two, unfinished, ones are obviously related to two school 'clubs', one the student council, and the other the student store. Mako was happy to sit there and eat her fruit instead of working, however.

Joo-Eun makes her way over to Mako's table with a tray of her own, which mostly seems to favor a mix of more traditional lunch fare, with a heavy emphasis on bread. As it is bread day. And Joo-Eun always had a weakness for the bread rolls at school. She sits next to the pink haired Otomo, not saying anything, but rather, just seeming to let her work and hoping that her being there will help the work go by faster. Because that's what good girlfriends do.

Bai was walking with a tray containing a sandwich and a juice box. When he sees the stack of papers, he goes over to investigate. "Is everything alright Otomo-san? Indeed, this hardly seems the place to work on documents. Could you use some assistance perhaps?" He bows to both students sitting at the table before placing his tray across from them.

Mako smiled to Joo-Eun, and giggled at her tray of food, moving slightly closer to be able to touch arms, even if she was busy preparing her fruit meal, "I am blessed to have such lovely company." She said it with a smile to Joo-Eun, before Bai came over, her smile turning to him, "Oh, I simply have let some work pile up. The student store's contracts with local distributors have to be gone over." She pointed to one of the stacks, "So that I can make sure there aren't any secrets or problems in them. Then I've got the budget documents, and the documentation for the koku Eito-sensei invested into the store to help us get goods running." She seemed to be enjoying discussing what she was doing at least, the talk on the paperwork was making her work faster on her fruit, and finally, she had her fruit salad ready, self-made.
"Plus I've gotta go over the Sakura Festival budgets eventually, only a few days left for that, and I figured I could work on it at lunch, since I didn't have plans." She moved her left hand under the table, not advertising to Bai or the cafeteria that she was trying to hold Joo-Eun's hand under it, "Though, if you'd like to help, I'd love a fresh pair of eyes."

Bai nods. "That does indeed sound important. I do not know how much help I can be, but I can look over forms, and I will do my best. And indeed, with my assistance, you can focus more of your attention on spending this lunch with Utaku-senpai."

Joo-Eun takes Mako's hand under the table, squeezing gently, "It's alright, Shiba-san. We are just sitting here and enjoying lunch. That is sometimes enough."

"Indeed. And I suppose such allowances must be made when one has so many romances running at once." Bai taps his chin.

Joo-Eun looks calmly at Bai, "Should I consider that a dig aimed at my friend, Shiba-san?"
The tone is somewhat dangerous, given that Joo-Eun is a bushi and that she might very well consider his comments an insult towards Mako.

Bai looks confused, until he begins to understand what the Utaku means. "Oh! No, no. Not at all. It is good that she is so open with herself. Too many people try to hide their truths, from themselves or others. Indeed, all the "lesbian sex cult" talk is childish, and if I disapproved I would have said so." He clearly doesn't know how air quotes work, doing one for each syllable, but he gives what he hopes is a reassuring smile.

Joo-Eun looks a bit annoyed for some reason, "Except that you could have simply said the first part and omitted the second. But that is just my take on it."
