This earned a small laugh from the Crane, who was quick to cover her mouth with her hand. "Well, barring your mother, I would like to have the school at least show some diversity. A reflection of how the school is, in a way."

Mako was late, but well, she had no reason to be anywhere else, and so she eventually walked in, with a large suitcase in hand. Indeed, she looked ready for business! It was for this reason that she had made sure that she dealt with her headache ahead of time. "Sorry for being late. I hadn't heard of the meeting until after I had come to class this morning. I had to stop by my apartment to pick up my paperwork." She excused herself with a little smile, "I have the plans for the Student Store, at least. The Cooking Club is going to be doing a combination of showing off how they cook, and selling the food - I've already discussed it with Gyushi-san, and we at the Student Store are going to be helping to sponsor them. By taking a part of their sales, we are seeking to have paid back only what we spend on ingredients."
She pulls some papers out, putting them on the table, "Eito-sensei and I have gotten some contacts in local distributors, making our prices lower than if the club contacts them directly. This, combined with Eito-sensei's own funds going into the Store, means that we will be saving around thirty-seven koku from the student council's funds, compared to if the cooking club provided their own ingredients. All while requiring absolutely no funds from the council's pockets." She pushed up her glasses, as she smiled around. "I hope that it is not overstepping?" She glanced towards Tsuki, as she asked that.

Tsuki blinked but made no immediate comment as Mako entered and began to talk about the cooking club mingling with the Student store, Eito-sensei dipping his pockets in funds and investments, and using local distributors. The Crane woman leaned back in her seat and quietly pulled the sheet of papers towards her that the Otomo had set upon the table, quickly going over what they might entail.
A quick skim later, she set them down, and flashed Make a warm and friendly smile. "Well, I suppose that answers for what two clubs will be doing, though I am uncertain how I feel about a sensei helping to directly cut costs and using their own funds to supplement the Store for where the cooking club will gather their ingredients. I always felt it best for the students of the clubs to work out such things, to hone themselves for what lies beyond the school halls. But maybe I'm in the minority. In either case, well done Otomo-san."
She looked over to Seijuro and Sakura for a moment, and then opted to catch Mako up. "We were actually just discussing on how to best get the others clubs to let us know what they plan to do this year. The only stipulation being that we don't have full on copies of the same idea. Mirumoto-san had a good suggestion on getting the others clubs to let us know what their plans are."

"You aren't, Kakita-san. I would agree that the clubs, not their faculty sponsor, should be taking the lead on the issues of supplying the clubs with the products they will need for their booths. The sensei certainly should be there as an advisor, a resource, rather than acting like a lord and simply providing everything. But what's done is done," Sakura comments.

Seijuro makes sure to welcome Mako with a bow in greeting as appropriate, seeming a little impressed that at least some of the clubs were on top of their stuff.
"Well, I guess it is our job to make sure the clubs that are slacking actually follow the proper procedures. Maybe we should divide up responsibility for ensuring the other clubs follow suit? I don't mind being the bad guy for cracking down on the martial clubs, if it comes down to it."

Tsuki nodded to Sakura, glad to have someone of similar mindset on the topic of club administration, before offering a thankful smile to Seijuro.
"If we feel that's reasonable, then certainly Seijuro-san, though I don't think you need to be the bad guy. At least, no one should have to do that yet. We can stick to informing the president's of each club via letters or email that they need to let us know what they plan to do for the festival, and let them be aware that we won't allow many duplicate ideas, so get your idea in before others with the same idea do."

"Perhaps we should allow some of the clubs with smaller member bases the freedom to work with other clubs as well, especially if they share similar profiles in terms of what they do. Like allowing, say, the Drama Club and the Music Club to collaborate on something," Sakura replies.

"Pardon the expression, then," Seijuro replied to Tsuki with a small smile and a nod, before looking to Sakura.
"That's not a bad plan. Somewhat similar to what Otomo-san has done. If the smaller clubs wanna work with other ones on the same type of idea, I don't see why we can't consolidate things."

Tsuki returned the smile to Seijuro, looking down to her tablet for a moment. "I agree there as well, as long as it makes sense. But if such is the case for those clubs, we'll have to assign rooms if their ideas require increased space. Which means even more emphasis on responding quickly to us."
