She looked at Ichiro and blushed a beet red. "You say that to every girl, probably." Koko looked at Ichiro and tilted her head. "You probably have a dozen of girlfriends prettier than me."

Ichiro's face took on a look of mock offensefor a moment "I would never be cheesy!" Then he grinned a bit "I will admit it can sound that way but I am being genuine, no one I have dated is quite like you and nor have any of them been like another. Every woman has something that makes her special whether it be her looks, or talents, her compassion, or any number of other things. I don't compare people because we are all our own little ball of awesomeness."
He pauses then continues "for example I am also seeing Uetani-chan and for her she and I connect on a level of passion and fire we both hunger to be the best at what we do and are driven to extreme lengths. Our fires speak to eachother, she understands me on that level. However you are entirely different, you are kind and compassionate. You are like a harbor for me to shelter in from the storm inside me when I am with you I am peaceful, you bring me something entirely different from what tani-chan does." He holds her hand while he talks and looks her in the eyes his tone is both light and serious he wants her to know he means what he says.

Ichiro sighed and squeezed her hand "kind of like a friend but more than that. I am not saying you are like a friend but I am saying I enjoy spending time with you, and I find you attractive, and I want to see if there is anything here." He had decided that being direct might be the best tactic at this point.
