It's a simple enough thing. Padded on the inside for protection, solid metal and done in a classic style. Not a fancy kabuto, but more like what you'd expect from a foot soldier than an officer. It's also designed not to obstruct his line of sight in any direction, which kind of leaves his face vulnerable. Solid enough. In theory.
Kobushi gives it up easily as he turns to Ryuha. "She's been trying to get me to buy one for days now."

Nade hid the helmet under the table and fiddled around with it for several, scowling at anyone who tried to look. A few things were taken from her bag, the sound of crumpling paper and the uncapping of a marker could be heard.
"He's told us about all the times in Clear Water he kept getting hit on the head. I was worried for him so I said it would be a good idea to get one~"

Hinata blinked at Nade as she messed with the helmet. What was her friend up to? Surely she would not sabotage the helmet?

Nade finished what she was doing and waited for Kobushi to look away before motioning to Hinata to be quiet as she passed her the helmet under the table along with a few items.

Hinata took the helmet under the table after nodding to Nadeshiko, keeping her expression as neutral as possible as she also did something to the helmet out of view. Once she was done, she passed the helmet to Yoshi under the table.

Yoshi receives the helmet beneath the table with a furrowed brow as if he'd just been handed a puzzle box. Soon after, he smiles as if he'd solved it. After more mysterious manipulations, this time on his part, he passes it back to Nadeshiko, giving her a deferential nod, followed by a reassurring one for Kobushi.

Kobushi watches all this passing around, not entirely sure what was going on. His friends wouldn't sabotage it, he thinks. So he's not sure what else might be going on. He keeps quiet, expecting that either the helmet will be given back to him or, for some reason, handed over to Ryuha to do whatever it is the others did.
"I swear, this is the first time they've done this," he says, wondering - worrying - what might be going through the Dragon girl's mind as this was happening.
