"Oh, what sort of music?" Yoshi says, recalling his own somewhat hidden affinity for song. "I like classic rock, myself. Also, I'm sure you'll get better if you get a chance to practice more. Don't be intimidated by how much better your room mate is at things; I mean, mine is Akodo Ichiro-san, and I still took a kenjutsu class and Defense class." He chuckles and shrugs.
"Other than that, I mostly just like reading and meditating," he says. "The reading includes poetry too, of course, Hinata. I'd like to see some of yours sometime, if you're ok with sharing."

She smiles at the memory of Hinata's poetry.
"Hoshi-chan isn't my roommate anymore. Now I have her biggest fan instead" she smiles at Hinata

Hinata chuckled.
"Indeed, Priya-chan and I share a room now. In fact, I have already shared some of my poetry with her, so I see no reason not to share it with you. I will warn you that it is not very good, though."

"I bet it's better than you think; we're always our own harshest critics," Yoshi says, reminding Hinata of the old saying. Noting the Badger's smiles, he adds, "Plus, the memories of hearing your poems certainly seem to please Priya-san. I'd be honored to have the chance to make my own."

"I think that it is wonderful. It shows your soul. I sthat not what poetry is supposed to do?"

"Well...yes. I am just not sure how good my soul is" Hinata replied, only half jesting. As it stood, she had good reason to believe there may be something very wrong with her soul. Her mask flickered for an almost imperceptible moment before she pushed the thought away.
"Thank you, though. I suppose someone has to like it."

Yoshi reaches out to give Hinata's hand a reassuring squeeze at her words about her soul. As for her comment about her poetry, he just chuckles and shakes his head.
"If you're talking about the law of averages, I think the odds are better that your poetry is actually good, rather than you managed to become room mates with the one person who'd like it," Yoshi tells her, "never mind what that says about Priya-san's taste." If her taste in poetry was anything like her taste in women, Yoshi knew he'd definitely enjoy Hinata's art.

"...you have a point."
Hinata smiled gently, and reached into her bag to pull out a small journal.
"I have some of it right here, if you would like to hear it now."

"Absolutely," Yoshi tells her, nodding.

"Right."
Hinata flipped the book open and settled on a page.
"Here is one I wrote earlier today, actually."
She cleared her throat, then began.
"Bird of time on the wind, how far is she to fly?
Come now love, do not weep, we all must live and die.
On the road of destiny, there is shadow and there is light.
For as the leaves fall from the trees, so our days must pass us by."
She looked back up at Priya and Yoshi expectantly. Perhaps the poem had been a bit macabre, but...that was what poetry was. It was an outlet for emotion, and she had certainly put her heart into that one.
