"Well I think Uetani-chan is already pretty aware. One ofbthe things that brought us together was our passion. I see a reflection of the fire in my soul in hers, we both burn with a desire to be better, to be perfect." He recognized how sappy he probably sounded but he couldn't help it, that was the effect that Uetani had on him.

"But are you both aware of when you need to anchor the other?" she asks, a mix of curiosity and, perhaps, parental interrogation. If she is to be Uetani's other mother, she needed to exercise the same sorts of skills she used on her biological daughter's boyfriends on the Akodo.

"We are learning." He says slowly thinking about it. "We care for eachother very much but still have a long way to go. I hope I have a long time to get to know her." The last few words wistfully not really looking at anything, a contented half smile on his lips.

"Good." She nods in approval. The Akodo sounded like a good match. Perhaps better than Mako was, in some ways. Though she wondered if Uetani --- or Fuyuko --- would see it that way. "Word of advice? The learning process never ends. Feelings change over time, and so do people. So as you two spend more time with each other, you learn new things because those things weren't there before."

Ichiro nodded "arigatou Utaku-sensei, it means a lot that you want to give advice not only as a teacher but as the mother of the woman i love." He blushed slightly as he said the words, not out of embarrassment but perhaps apprehension seeing as how this was his first real time meeting Hisui and her first time learning of him. He had not meant to say it but it had popped into his head and it felt wrong to hide the way he felt.

"No need to thank me. I'm just looking out for a student and daughter," she answers, which was the truth.
She smiles. The night at the baths aside, the Akodo made a good first impression on the Utaku. While she didn't know the young Crane or the Lion well enough to truly guess, she could guess the pair would work well with each other. Whether or not that would affect the other two romances in Uetani's life --- Mako and Kogeki --- she wasn't sure. She could only hope that none of them would get hurt.
"Judging by her discretion, I would guess she hasn't told you about her other romantic attachments? To be honest, I'm only discovering them through serendipity."

"Well she has told me she is seeing one other guy and a girl who the girl is isn't too hard to guess knowing the students here but I don't know for sure, the guy could be anyone. She said she was making me aware to her other partners but she has not disclosed them to me. She might if I pressed it but it doesn't matter overly much to me." He said with a shrug

She pauses, counts the numbers in her head. Math had always been an odd thing to process. The girl was clearly Otomo Mako. The boy she learned earlier was Gyushi Kogeki. She puts a finger to her chin, thinking. In the end, she decides not to reveal the names. Fuyuko should probably know, of course, but she'll leave revealing things to the Akodo to Uetani's discretion.
"Unless she's kept a fourth from you, I believe that means I know all of you." She chuckles. She's not sure even Fuyuko knows all of them, other than Mako. "But I wouldn't press unless you have a sound reason to ask. Let her reveal it herself otherwise, if she thinks it appropriate."
"Do either of you worry about hurting anyone this way?"

The lion shrugged again "of I care to some extent compassion is part of bushido." The answer was a little kiss assey but it was nine the less true. "In the end I think we are all adults, young as we may be and as long as neither of us is lying to anyone I don't think we are to blame if they get hurt. I would still feel bad my actions caused harm but ultimately it wouldn't be my fault."

"Hmm. Reasonable enough."
She offers no other answer. In the end, the whole thing was their choice. Though the Utaku did think honesty advised that the names be out in the open, so people had an idea who happened to be involved. Still, it was none of her concern. All she does at the moment is appear contemplative, which is true. She is also trying to appear as non-judgmental, which is only partly true. Maternal instincts were hard to curtail in that manner.
