Tea class had gone... well, incredibly well. She hadn't expected so many people to be there, honestly, but her class was clearly a success from that. She even had gotten to have the Prince attend her class, which was a great win for improving her position - if she could become a Sensei the Prince liked, well there could be benefits. These were the thoughts that occupied her as she slowly cleaned up the tea room. She had no other plans for the day, and the room was going to be unoccupied at least until past lunch, so she could take her time.
Her set was still sprawled out, and she slowly began to pack her matcha, the door into the tea room wide open.

Kangei had finished with some light morning exercises to get out some restless energy and was freshly groomed and showered his hair worn long but pulled back and held in place with a deep blue silk ribbon. He was in a somewhat casual look since he had no classes the sleeves of his crisp cobalt button up rolled to just below his elbows. It was rainy so he paired it with black slacks and comfortable but fashionable black shoes.
He walked with a calm, relaxed type of grace that is born of confidence he knew where he was going and had no reason to rush there. He had not performed the tea ceremony in quite some time and decided it was a good time to do so. He decided to use the rooms in the school so as to avoid more of the torrential conditions outside. He saw the room open and saw the comely dragon woman cleaning from what appeared to be a class. She was a bit preoccupied with her thoughts it seemed, as she did not notice his arrival. His hands in his pockets Kangei leaned against the door frame and watched her work for a second.
"A pleasant surprise to see the tea room getting so much activity despite the weather." His soft voice rang out in the otherwise quiet room.

Yia looked towards the voice suddenly, her head whipping around to look over the attractive Crane man, who had spoken to her, "Indeed. I thought the weather might be good for tea, in fact. To empty the minds of our youths of the worries that cloud them during such stormy days." She stood from where she had been filling her set with the matcha that she had pulled out, and bowed deeply to Kangei, "Togashi Yia. It is a pleasure to make your company."
She looked over the mess still there, and smiled softly, "If you came for tea, I am still set up, and would be willing to prepare it for you. If you would like."

Kangei bows back exactly at the right depth to convey respect. "Togashi-sensei, I must say you are a sight more beautiful than any monk I have had the pleasure of meeting." his tone was playful and light a breeze tickling the back of your neck "This one is Asahina Kangei I teach etiquette and courtiership here at the school. It is certainly a pleasure to meet you. Usually I would offer to perform the ceremony but I believe you are much more able to do so." he said with a soft smile. He was not so blatant as to ogle the woman but he did quickly appraised her apperance and appreciated what he saw.

She smiled at the Crane's flirtations, and compliments, "I appreciate your directness in such, Asahina-san." She gave a little laugh into her fingertips, as she smiled a little smile, "Though I must inform you that all of my brothers and sisters are quite beautiful people, even if they show it in unconventional ways." She motioned to a seat near the head of the table, where she had been packing it in, "I, as you may have guessed, teach the art of the tea ceremony, as well as the art of showing sincerity in your words."
She looked him over as well, perhaps less slyly than he did her, without shame, "A part of me had doubted the purported looks of the Crane clan. I see I should never have let such doubts in."

"Ah a dangerous knowledge you have, when it is known that you can make anything sound sincere it makes everything you say dubious." he said teasingly as he strode into the room hands in his pockets his gait casual. "If all your brothers and sisters are as attractive as you are I must say you have a gorgeous family."
He enjoyed the attention he was receiving and almost, was he? posing? surely not. But he did stop close to Yia, not improperly so but just the exact distance needed to stay 'proper' "I am glad to have settled your doubts but you give me too much praise, I am but a simple man here to instruct the next wave of courtiers."

"Hai, and I but a simple monk, here to show the ways of the world and the arts of old to students." She said it with a little smile, cheerful and concealing, the exact kind of smile that said 'this is completely dubious'. And she seemed to know she was making it, as she laughed into her fingers, "It's good that the students have someone like you teaching them. It is important to have our young women used to beautiful men who will promise them the world, in terms that mean they need only give a globe." She bit back playfully, her smile shifting to a peaceful one, natural and honest looking.
"Tea, courtly attitudes, looks, humor. I must say, your wife must be pleased."

"Well then we seem to have plenty in common already both of us simple educators here to serve the greater good." his smile was equally telling "and I dare say the young men of this school could do with being around a beautiful woman to teach them to control themselves a bit."
Kangei grinned at her last statement it was a not so subtle way people inquired ones marital status and quite an old one but it did the job and he had no issue rolling with it "Alas I have been unable to charm a woman well enough to commit that particular folly with me." he said with a good bit of self depreciating humor "But surely your husband must be a better wordsmith than I to have captured such a beautiful woman with his tongue."

"We monks do not marry often, as I'm sure you know. Though those of us who do almost always do so out of love, since it requires we either leave the order, or they pass the trial of the mountain to join us." Yia was just... truthful, not beating around that bush at all, as she replied, smiling softly at the man who was fishing back. They both were going for the obvious plays, but this wasn't a bad thing. Indeed, it was a good one, because it meant they were getting the information they wanted, without worry.
"It's more of a mystery that you are without one, no? A fetching, handsome man, with a good family, a good skillset, and good enough to be teaching at one of the finest institutions in the Empire? There must be some trick to it, no? Perhaps your Family is waiting for a good political match?" She was curious, and she felt no need to be deceptive here when asking straight has worked well enough.

"hai you have the right of it, I am a bit old to not be married I suppose though I hardly think about it. I suppose it's because I am a fourth born son of a minor family so I have little pedigree that so many of the great houses desire. Some have tried to arrange it due to my skills but I am a fierce opponent in the courts and I tended to make myself more trouble than I am worth. If I am to marry I will do it because I want to, not because someone else has decided for me."
