Fuyuko frowns slightly. "Hmm, no they are not. It seems a somewhat dire circumstance. But add in a Shugenja. Meta-sama said bring everybody from the group. I will insist his daughter join us. After all, I am sure he thought us capable of escaping and wouldn't throw us at odds he wouldn't risk his blood on. We may want a few more as backup though. Straight up fighters."

"Can we even tell anyone outside the group? I was under the impression this had to be kept secret to reduce the risk of discovery," she says, sounding somewhat surprised. Then again, she hasn't considered only telling people part of the truth. "If we're factoring in his daughter and bringing along those outside the group, Akodo-san has all but volunteered already. Beyond that, I suppose we need to factor in whether or not we want to risk any more students on this venture."
"Or if we recruit other sensei."

Fuyu worries her brow a moment. "We cannot tell them about the true enemy. However this enemy masquerades as a Crane Crime Lord. And a Crime lord who killed a student's sister is a target worthy of going after. We will just need to be more careful since the others might face an unknown threat. And I think it should be Sensei. Akodo-san has the right to defend his love. I would not deny him that."

"I suppose a partial truth is better than none," she says, pondering the options available. "If we rely only on other sensei, Akane-chan should be considered. Actually, if she knew Aiko-chan was going into danger, she'd come anyway."
"This letter we're supposed to deliver. It will provoke a duel with the Crane crime lord? Or will we need to figure that out ourselves?"

"It is a truth. Even if partial. We may be wrong after all. Akane-sensei would work well to round out our mix. And as far as I can tell the contents of the letter will provoke the duel. So long as it is sealed and the boy is there when we deliver them. Assuming he can win, which I hope he can, they will then react as criminals might and try to either scatter or silence us."

"And the evidence? I recall he said something evidence from the trial going missing during the meeting?" she asks, considering that to be of some importance. That it would actually be important was something she only barely suspected.
"We should give everyone time to prepare, of course. Get their affairs in order. Everyone that's coming, I mean. We need to confirm who is joining us."

Fuyuko frowns. "I am unsure. Nothing was said of that. However Meta-sama did clear up the timeline. Apparently this man was using the feud at a time where he should not have known of it which implies he is an agent of our foe. That itself should be sufficient evidence. But we do need some time but I would like to do this before the end of term."

Hisui nods, apparently content with the explanation. Or it was possible their target was not an agent of their enemy at all, and was just another crime lord. She is too concerned at the idea of being sent to a death trap to really think that part through.
"We should ask the others, then. Give them time to decide if they want to join us and when they'll be ready to leave," she says as she leans back a little. "And I suppose I should give your soul something to remember me by, if this mission takes you away from me."

Fuyuko sighs. "Indeed. We should. And we should as well. Or if it takes you from me. Either way, I need to do some paperwork so that we can look after each other's children just in case. And to figure out how to do things if both of us must go. I have some faith though, if he is a crime lord, that was most of what I did when I was on the force."

"I will update my last will and testament. I planned to name you executor of my estate, leave what little property is under my name to you, and the legal point of contact for my children," She holds her Crane maiden's hand. "It is the best I can do, given the circumstances."
"I love you. I will find you, if this takes us both to our next lives. And I hope to be worthy of you again when I do."
