Kaizen got a text from Koshiro the day before that his new onobokken was ready. so he grabbed the Oar that he had been using and went to his room. He knocked twice. "Oi, Koshiro-san. Are you awake?" He stood at the door waiting. with the size of it, the hall light made a weird overcast over Kaizen and it looked like he was really hungry...

"Over here," replied a voice behind him. Kaizen would turn to see Koshiro coming down the stairs fresh from the showers, towel wrapped around his waist. The ronin looks up at the larger student. "... You look like you probably should've gone and eaten breakfast before coming down here."

He turned to the boy, "Oh, there you are." he bowed to him "Ya, i was on my way to get some breakfast." he rubbed his growling belly. "you said something about finishing it?"

Koshiro nods and tilts his head over to the maintenance workbench. There, surrounded by woodshavings and sawdust, was his onobokken. It was smaller than the one in the picture he'd been shown, but the weight was similar to that of a regular oar. The handle was a little thicker as it was reinforced with another layer of wood, but it would hold up against heavy strikes.
"Go ahead and get a feel with it. Not too hard or wildly in here though, you wouldn't wanna damage the pipes down here. I gotta change into my work clothes." Koshiro moves past the larger student and enters his room to get changed, leaving Kaizen to examine the wooden sword.

He looks at his Onobokken, "looks good" he handed him the Oar before picking up the Onobokken. "feels good too." he checked the balance of it and made a few slow movements like a meditative kata. Slow, precise, and fluid. "This is well done Koshiro-san." he said with a smile. "Did you eat breakfast yet?" He said with a very pleased look on his face.

"Not yet," the ronin boy replies as he steps out with pants on, still buttoning his shirt. "How does it feel? Does it feel unbalanced in any way or on any side? I can still make adjustments if needed."

"It feels good so far, i would have to test it out in the dojo after breakfast." he said with a smile and resting the wooded blade on his shoulders. At this angle, it looked like a large 2x4 with a handle. "well, lets go get some breakfast. im starving." he said as he looked for a place to put it down. "can i leave this here while we eat?"

"Sure, just leave it on the workbench. Lemme get my socks and shoes on first." Koshiro retreats back into his meager room to put on the rest of his work clothes. When done, he steps out. "If we're coming back here, guess I'll leave my toolbox here for now and pick it up later. Shall we?"

He placed it back onto the work bench. "Sure." he smiled as he got back to the door. "Oh, by the way, breakfast is on me. Its the least i can do to say thanks for your work. So get whatever you want."

"It better be. The materials for making the weapon weren't cheap. It's not like I can just take wood from the school supply, I had to purchase the darn things." Koshiro grumbles a bit. "Sorry, am just a little grumpy. Been so busy these past few days, had little time to do the things I wanna do. At least your request is almost over. Though it might mean another request will come to fill that time up. Sigh... maintenance work is never done."
