Akane sits behind Fuyuko and Hisui, her look of excitement not hidden as she sits on the edge of her seat. Literally.

From behind the gathered people, Bayushi Yokohime made her presense know. She was carrying some bags and boxes that probably will be needed at some point. "Konbanwa... mina san." The Bayushi greeted.

Hisui looked around. As far as she knew, all of the relevant sensei were already there. It seemed all of them had their own roles to play.
"Everyone, thank you for coming."
She smiles, looking at each person in turn.
"As you're all aware, we are here about a kobune called the Salty Goblin. She's been at the bottom of the lake for a lot longer than she deserves, and the old captain's son…"
She nods to Koshiro.
"…wants to raise it. Bayushi-sensei has found the mast and, we assume, the general location of the wreck. As per discussion between myself, Doji-sensei, and Bayushi-sensei, the fastest option to get the boat to the surface is through the kami. I have been made aware that Kuni-san has also considered the same plan."
She turns, one by one, to the shugenja in the room. "As you can probably guess, that's where all of you come in."
"However, as I discussed with Shibatsu-sensei, getting it out of the water is just the start. As far as I am aware, we have no idea what condition the old girl is in. Whether it can be repaired, i it can only be salvaged in part, or if it's a lost cause."
"Myself, Ryudo-sensei, Doji-sensei, and Shibatsu-sensei are willing to assist in any way. Thanks to Seppun-sensei, we have permission to bring work crews and equipment onto school grounds for salvage and repairs."
"That should bring everyone up to speed," she says before giving everyone one last look. "This is not a school project. This is not an official order. All this is a favor to a friend. If you have any misgivings at all, I for one will not hold it against you if you choose not to help."
"If you stay, we need to discuss the details. Who needs to do what, materials we need, and when it can be done."
She glances at Fuyuko and sighs. The Crane would want to see this happen.
"If, for example, it can be raised tomorrow."

Fuyu offers Hisui a small gentle smile in response to this before she goes back to her gentle waiting.

Akane, as always, speaks up, "I have nothing to offer with the kami, of course, but am certainly willing to do whatever is within my abilities to help."

Koshiro meekly raises his hand to speak. "I-I'd just like to say thank you to everyone that wishes to help. The raising and restoration of the Salty Goblin has always been a personal matter for me, a way to thank the woman I am proud and thankful to call my mother that found and adopted me. I don't have anything to offer any of you but my thanks... and perhaps a future favor, should any of you require anything of me. With regards to the state of my mother's ship, I had planned on repairing her myself. I... have considered the possibility that the ship might not be repairable, but I remain hopeful that it can be restored in some way. I would not ask anyone here to spend their hard-earned koku on something that they would not get anything out of. It will take time, but I will work my hardest to earn the money needed for materials for repairs to the ship."

"Some of us," Hisui says, glancing briefly over Yoko, Akane, and Fuyuko, "knew your mother well. I hardly think it's an imposition on us to do her and her son a favor."
"Though I am now wondering. Given that we don't know the overall condition of the ship, or if it's even in one piece, is it possible to raise it with the help of the kami without risking further damage?"

"Hm...well trying to raise it all poses a risk. Waterlogged wood is hardly the most sturdy of materials. Well, if the boat was wooden. Is it, Koshiro-kun?"

Koshiro nods. "It is a wooden ship, aye. I thought perhaps to ask the earth kami to shift away and release the ship from its grasp. Then perhaps the water kami can raise it up to the shore."
