If Hinata did not know better, she would swear this woman must be Mako's mother. She found herself smiling in spite of her On.
"Well, yes, I did have an answer. I think it can wait, though; this seems more important."

"Ano.... eh?" The girl tilts her head curiously before taking the scroll from Hanashiro. "What is it?"
Not expecting an answer so much from the woman before her, and more so knowing that there was only one way to find out, Tetsuko delicately begins to pull on the ribbon. Curiosity breaks her On as the it is slowly unwound, and she looks at it as if the ribbon, and not the parchment, would hold clues to the details therein.
Dark Blue. Rough. How can a ribbon feel... rough? She asks herself. Unless... it comes from the Crab. But then...
"Oba-san..." her voice trembles. A frown creases her face. "This... this isn't what I think it is, is it?" She clenches the parchment in a fist, wrinkling the scroll in the process. Her eyes flash dangerously, and clearly upset. "The Pragmatists... they want for me to return to Doji lands, don't they? Hida-sensei never did see me as... as one of them..."
The corner of her eye begins to mist. It's only the by the presence of the Prince nearby that keeps the tears in check.

With no concern for proper etiquette the Elemental Master reaches out and gently cups Tetsuko's cheek. Her thumb strokes lightly beneath the girl's eye and wipes away the mist that threatens to roll down her cheeks.
"Hush my little Star, do not let your fears get the best of you." It was very clear to see to all present that Hanashiro was very much a doting mother, even to those who were not of her own blood. "I would not bear such news to you in a place like this were it anything so awful."
Removing her hand she reaches down and nudges the scroll a bit. "Read it darling."

Tetsuko nods.
"I... I know. I'm sorry."
She turns her attention back to the scroll in her hands. Well... what other reason would the Crab have need to contact me for, then? Swallowing the last vestiges of trepidation, the Crane child slowly begins to unfurl the scroll. A moment ticks by as she reads the words on the parchment.
"Wait."
She reads it again, hungrily pouring over the words to ensure she wasn't missing anything.
"Is this.... is this for real?" She asks incredibly, the tears now freely rolling down her cheek. Her countenance, however, is not one of defeat, anger, or sadness. No. The tears that begin to drop, staining the parchment dark with wet splotches, are tears of joy. Of happiness.
Tetsuko looks between both Hanashiro and Yoshinobu. "I'm dreaming." she whispers. "I-I've gotta be dreaming..."
She steps back, and collapses onto a nearby bench, staring at the parchment in disbelief.

For her part, Hinata just stood there awkwardly, saying nothing and trying to appear as if she was not listening. Whatever this matter was, it was deeply personal, and thus not something meant for her ears. Instead she attempted to distract herself by watching the crowd and glancing that the surrounding booths.

Walking over to the young Crane Hanashiro kneels down in front of her. “Even dreams come true my dear.”
Then with a large grin and a strong voice she speaks in a tone loud enough for those around to hear. “Congratulations Hida Tetsuko, daughter of the late Thunder, Hida Tetsuo.”

Tetsuko launches herself at Hanashiro, smothering her face into her chest as she gives the woman a bear hug. She just silently sits there, holding her de facto aunt tightly, not really knowing what to say at this point.

Upon hearing that, Hinata found her attention forcibly pulled to the conversation. The Doji was a Hida? And the child of Tetsuo, no less? Judging by the girl's reaction, she was clearly ecstatic. This must be something that mattered to her deeply. Hinata did the only thing she could think to do in this situation.
She bowed again, her eyes bright as Tetsuko's joy infected her.
"It is an honor to meet you, cousin."

Hanashiro wraps her arms tightly around Tetsuko, squeezing the girl as tightly as she could without causing her pain."I'm sorry it took so long darling. But it has come to pass at last."

Tetsuko releases Hanashiro, nodding silently. She turns to Hinata and bows.
"Hai, cousin. The honor is mine."
She stays bowed, her mind racing in giddy excitement.
