Mei's eyebrows arched, "I am surprised, even with what makes you unique, that your Daimyo does not want you marrying and having children that way. Not that I can claim much better in that respect in some ways... You are dedicated to making this relationship with the Utaku work long term then I take it?"

Fuyuko frowns. "My spiritual blessings are...unkind to any life that tries to grow inside me. My Daimyo has decided that the medical costs of helping a child survive me are not worth it. It has given me the freedom to be with my Utaku though, who I consider my wife in all but law. And my daughter is alone and in need of guidance of one who has the spiritual conditions I have. It is easy otherwise to grow up, thinking oneself monstrous. Or a weapon."

Mei nods a little hand going to her chin, "I have struggled with similar, trying to find ways to cure conditions both genetic and spiritual through my company. I hope my daughters realize, however, that that which makes them different can be both a curse and empowering; I have certainly been able to succeed with my own maladies. And I believe you are a stronger, not a weaker person, for your own hardships."

Fuyu gives a small nod. "An interesting development. Perhaps one day you can help my daughter have children. I suspect she has a similar problem to mine." She sighs slightly. "The blessings helped me in many aspects of the law."

Mei finally took a longer pause before speaking again, "I am most glad, perhaps, to hear you would have liked me to visit you. Part of me had thought you resented me for tempting you so, playing on our mutual interests."
