Hisui had spent about half the day by the lake. After a quick jaunt to the choir room, where all the pent up emotions of the day and the night before finally let themselves loose, she decided more water was necessary. This time, though, she made her way to the swimming pool. A bit of nostalgia hit her as she remembered a Seppun that almost drowned, two sensei exchanging puns about her breasts, and learning a name that she didn't expect would be so magical to her ears after twenty years. She slipped out of her coat and into a swimsuit, eager to go for a swim with the stupidest, happiest grin on her face. She hadn't expected to run into anyone, though company wouldn't have been unwelcome. Especially a good friend like Ryudo Akane.

Akane was sulky; She'd woken up today to surprising news, and it was all she could do to try to go about her routine. No classes, no clubs, no going out for food, no biking around town... Not to mention implications. She'd had as big of a lunch as she could after the weight room, one big enough that even she had known not to go to the pool afterwards. But after a few hours of digesting cafeteria food she finally made her way to her beloved swimming pool, both for the chance to shower off the sweat from the gym and to clear her mind. She dove in before noticing someone else in. Akane immediately recognized the woman; Maybe her head wouldn't be so clear after all. "Heya Hisu-chan. Fancy seeing you here," she said with a wink.

"Akane-chan!" the other woman in question exclaimed at the sight. For a moment, her eyes wander. It was hard, even in this dream, for her eyes to pull away from beauty. And Akane had that in spades. "Trying to clear your head or trying to just forget how strange things have gotten?"

"Oh you know me; Clearing my mind. I don't like dwelling on things when there are things I could be doing instead. And since I worked up a sweat in the gym, I decided cooling off in the pool would be a natural follow up. I mean, either here or the hotsprings. Seems I chose wisely though. What about you?"
Akane wasn't swimming yet, just treading water with one hand on the pool wall.

"Mostly the same. Clearing my head, trying not to think too hard about the sky and what's coming." She smiles. It weighed down on her, but she didn't want that to shine through. She didn't want Akane to worry about her again. And she had a good reason to smile, even if so much seemed to be going wrong around her. "I figured a dip might help. Shake a few thoughts out of my head. Honestly, this whole decision is bigger than the sort any of us can make."
"I was worried about you when I didn't see you or Aiko-chan at the assembly last night."

"Heeh... Well, you know me; Once I'm asleep I could sleep through someone with a megaphone to my ear. That's why my alarm clock spritzes me like a cat~ As to Aiko... I will admit I haven't been able to get ahold of her. I assume she's off campus then?"

"I don't know," she says worriedly. "Nobody's phones are working and I haven't seen her all day. And nobody seems to be able to leave campus, so I can only guess nobody can get in, either. I hope she's alright. And I hope her children are with her, wherever she is."

"No one was at her apartment when I went there this morning... I know that's not conclusive, but that gives me hope that they were out. And yeah; I definitely spent a good bit of time testing out that barrier this morning. Not even Kunshu-chan could do anything. Not that I tried too hard with her; She said it hurt to touch."

She looked alarmed at the mention. And even more alarm came to her face at the last. But it did remind her of something she considered at some point earlier in the day.
"How is Kunshu-san these days?" she asks. "Still quiet?"

That got a big frown from the Lioness, "More and more quiet, yeah. After she stopped being able to become a human during the war, she stopped being able to speak seven years later. Then, it was another seven years before I couldn't hear her voice when touching her. That was four years ago or so now; It seems like the thing she's losing now is her energy. Most of the time she sleeps, though she wakes up for exciting things like meeting people and exercising. If the cycle continues, it will probably be another two or three years until she can't wake up anymore; Assuming the seven year thing wasn't a coincidence."
