Shiba Bai peeked into the school library, a grin on his face. This was just like back home. He was a little surprised he was already feeling homesick, but he pushed all that down. He walked into the large room, looking around at the various signs indicating where one could find each subject. He wasn't sure where to start, his own collection was sadly as feeble as he was. Eventually, he decided on the manga section. He could get to the historical stuff later, he doubted there would be much competition for that. He went down the row of books, finding the next issues in a few series he was following, not the most recent but not far behind, and took them to a seat to read.

Into the library steps Shibatsu Eito, wearing his fancy silk suit with the spider's mon embroidered on his breast and holding his K-Pad in his hands. He has a list of books he wanted to use or assign work around for his class and it simply wouldn't do if the students didn't have access to them. After all, he would hate poverty to be the reason somebody failed economics. Cheerfully the man begins looking around the shelves, marking off books he would have to order for the school and books they had. Thankfully they seemed good on the economics section at least.

Hearing the distinct sound of footsteps in the library, Bai looks up from his reading. He sees the Spider, immediately curious. There weren't many people other people around yet, school hadn't officially started. And he didn't seem to be taking out any books either. His curiosity piqued, he decided to go up to the Spider clan adult. What was the worst that could happen?
"Konnichiwa Spider-Sama. This one is Shiba Bai. I was wondering if you wanted any help, as I am not doing anything important right now."

Eito hears the boy and turns, a bright dazzling smile on his face as he bows. "Konnichiwa Shiba-san. This one is Shibatsu Eito. This one also greatly appreciates the help. I was checking my list of books I wanted students to have access to for my class against what the library has. I don't want to expect students to have access to information and find out later only those who can afford the books have them."

Bai is taken aback by how kind Eito was. Not at all like the Spider he had read about. Perhaps his instincts were right about this teacher! "That is a noble effort indeed. What classes are you teaching, if you don't mind me asking? I do hope I will find myself in some of them." He looks over the list of books Eito was checking on.

"I am teaching Economics, and the Ethics of Shourido." he offers with that same kind smile. "I think the school might be lacking in some of the books of the later class, can't imagine why. I suppose nothing for it but to order them myself and donate them. It would be simply foul to see someone fail my class due to lack of resources. Not everyone has the benefit of birth and I would much rather judge them on what they can do."

Bai's smile falters a little. "Oh... right. Well, I know I will be attending at least some of your economics classes. A general should at least know how to not waste resources. As for your other subject..." He shakes his head.
"I am afraid I will not likely be in those classes. Neither my honor nor future glory would allow me to" He hopes the pause isn't awkward, but he knows it is. He just insulted the man's subject, after all! He bows.

Eito chuckles softly. "No need to worry. I am not offended. I hope you will change your mind but if not I completely understand. After all part of my goal is for people to understand Shourido and how it interacts with Bushido. You are always welcome to sit in but I can see how one would feel that is not an option. As for Economics yes indeed." he thought back, the smile fading lightly.
"You have no idea how many lives were lost because of idiots who did not know how to plan ahead for rations or ammunition or fuel and just assumed it was being taken care of."

Bai straightened up beaming, clearly happy to have not offended the kind Spider Sensei. "It is a shockingly common mistake, indeed. One I intend to not make. There are a staggering amount of subjects that it seems I need to have at least a chance of becoming a proper modern rikugunshokan. A lofty dream, but one should aim to serve their lord to the best of their abilities."

Eito whistles softly. "A lofty ambition. But glory and honor go to the ambitious. I hope you can reach your goal and I will be most happy to help. In addition I am sure that the wise can see that some lessons of economics apply to war as well. I must confess, I did not much enjoy my time on the battlefield and was happy I was only asked for my economic skills."
