Seppun Kojima's expectations were not high. Fortunately, the school cafeteria at Rokugan High School did not have a high bar so he found himself pleasantly surprised by the fare offered at lunch. Seppun Kojima was a man in his late thirties or early forties, trim and lean from twenty years of service to the Imperial Legions and Emerald Empire. The newest Military Science teacher had a military background but beyond that, there was little known about the former military officer. Kojima walked from the lunch line to a table in a quiet cafeteria. Due to the arrivals of the student body, there were not many students or teachers eating but he suspect in the following days he wouldn't be able to enjoy lunch without the thunderous cries of hundreds of young teenage samurai. He would enjoy the calm before the storm for what it was worth. It was all he could do, really.
Kojima had dark eyes, a neatly cropped head of dark hair, and the look of someone who had seen his fair share of conflict. He dressed in casual business attire which consisted of a white button up, black tie, and black slacks. His belt and dress shoes matched, putting on a clean, professional image. The teacher quietly ate as he sat at a table near the windows overlooking the temple and the lake beyond. Quiet and contemplative, Kojima had a lot to think about.

As the teacher was walking to the cafeteria, he would notice two girls signing to each other. They seem happy to be going to have lunch in the cafeteria.

As he ate a bowl of rice as part of his breakfast, Kojima watched the two girls using sign language between one another. He chewed thoughtfully, his attention taken away from the vista of the temple by the lake, as he pondered what the two could be saying to one another. He never learned sign language (nor was it something his position or experience ever required) but considered the tactical advantages of communicating through sign language. Of course the infantry had their own hand and arms signals to convey simple instructions: stop, go, rally, file, and so on. However, in a scouting situation the applications could maintain discretion and secrecy for longer periods of time. Fascinating.

As the sensei looked at the two girls, they sensed they were being watched by the crowd. They decided to stop and sit by the protection of the sensei hopefully they won't be bullied there. "Gomen Sensei sama... may we sit here?" Kiki and Koko bowed simulstaneosly.

"You may," Kojima greeted the two in a cordial fashion.
"Please, sit," he indicated to the two girls with a gesture from his hand. The man looked the two over, noting the tails. Ah, how did I miss that before? Kitsune.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Seppun Kojima. I teach Military Science and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
And it looks like I found two.
"Who might you two be?"

"I am Isawa Kokoro and this is my sister Kikiri." Kiki waved a small hello. The two sat in unison. "It is an honor to meet you Seppun sensei." Kiki had started to eat while Koko gave a small prayer to Inari. "I didn't know we had that class... I would like to know more about my ancestors."

"If by ancestors you mean my Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them class, then yes, we do cover the spiritual realm of Chikushudo," Kojima stated matter of fact.
"We'll cover all of the spirit realms: Tengoku, Ningen-do, and Jigoku at the beginning of the semester, then move onto the Axis of Reincarnation: Meido, Gaki-do, Toshigoku, Yomi, Maigo no Musha, and of course Chikushudo.
"We'll also cover Sakkaku and Yume-do. Is this of interest you two?"

Koko nodded. "Hai, I have visited Chikushudo and Sakkaku but never paid much attention to the different beings in the realm. I was just visiting friends and family." Koko said nonchalantly, like it is common for people to travel the realms.

Interesting.
Intrigued by the strange pair of girls, Kojima took a bite out of his rice bowl. After he chewed his food he replied, "You two should join my class this semester. I believe you would only enrich the learning environment."

Kiki looked at the Seppun and signed. Koko nodded. "We will. But Kiki has a bit of a problem... she hopes that if we are together in class the sensei understand her special capacity to understand speech."
