[Day 1 - Class 2] Military Science (Open)

Joo-Eun looks a little annoyed at this game, as there were no blocks representing the disposition of units, whether friendly or enemy, on the map. How was one to accurately plan if they lacked key inteligence? After all, was their army cavalry heavy? Ashigaru heavy? Did they have a large number of archers or relatively few? So many questions she wanted to ask, but she keeps quiet, as she was not the one who was tasked with the initial strategic disposition of troops.

"Sensei, you are giving us insufficient information for the task at hand. We are given a target, yes, but why do we wish to take the school grounds? What forces do we have available to us and what intelligence do we have regarding the disposition of the main concentrations of enemy troops? What sort of time table are we working on? You are giving us rough details, yes, but not the sort of details needed to plan out a successful campaign and give effective objectives for each of the lower ranks to achieve. For example, if we are given a cavalry heavy force, such as those favored by the Unicorn, it requires a different approach to taking the campus on both a strategic and tactical level, as cavalry is great at taking ground and disrupting the enemy, but it's not as effective at holding it in the long term unsupported. For that, you need sufficient infantry forces. It also influences the general objectives given to the lower commmanders, as well as how those forces are distributed among them," Joo-Eun speaks, as the Seppun had invited her to speak her mind, and she's doing so at length.

Shiba Bai had slipped into class unnoticed, hardly surprising for a boy of his stature. He took out a notebook, flipped to the first page, and sat waiting for the class to begin.

When it came time for him to introduce himself, he rose. "Shiba Bai. I wish to master military strategy and tactics so I may serve my clan despite my weaknesses."

Throughout the class, he was carefully takes notes. Of course, he already knows all of this, but that hardly excuses him from his duties as a student, and one never knows when something valuable will reveal itself even in places one has seen before. If one were to look over his notes, they'd find them organized carefully, with highlighters of different color applied at various points indicating this or that. He clearly has his system, and is comfortable with it.

When the exercise was given to the class, he got up, bringing along his notebook and his mechanical pencil. He nodded at the Utaku's question, knowing that information is always needed, but then began to understand what the Sensei was saying. He looked over the map carefully, thinking.
