She hummed in agreement, looking up at the white wall of the infirmary with unfocused eyes. There was a moment of comfortable silence, before the Unicorn looked back at the young man. "Well, if you ever find yourself angry enough to beat on someone, might I suggest the training dummy instead?" She offered with a smile. "I'd be glad to watch, I believe I could learn a thing or two from watching you fight, Seijuro-san."
Ryouko's eyes settled back on him and it was clear his strength had impressed her. "I'd be honored if you would be willing to teach me a thing or two. I haven't had the change to train much with a Lion yet."

Seijuro actually let out a deep laugh at that, bending over slightly as he held his sides.
"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind Ryouko-san. Not sure there are enough dummies, at some point. The school will send me an invoice if I break too many." When she talks about learning, he can't help but accept. "I think we could learn a lot from each other. It sounds like a plan, then. I'm not sure how good of a teacher I'd be, but I'm willing to learn... how to teach."

She snorted in amusement, wincing at the pain the movement brought. "My father says there is no better way to learn then by teaching." She noted, before turning in the bed, slowly attempting to stand. It wasn't too bad. Her head still thumped slightly, and her side stung like hell, but she didn't feel too light headed. Ryouko's hand moved to run through her hair. As expected, her fingers came out red with partially dried blood.

Seijuro frowned, almost reaching a hand out to her.
"Hey now, you might wanna slow down a bit there." The Akodo fetches her a clean, wet towel to clean her hand with. "Your father sounds like a wise man. What family was he from?"

"He was a Doji before he wedded my mom." She said, accepting the towel with a slight nod. She poured what was left of her water on it, before gently running it through her hair, trying to clean most of the blood off. A stray thought crossed her mind as she did, and she looked back at Seijuro curiously.
"You were at the stables." It was a statement, yet it had the ring of a question.

"I am sure there is quite the tale behind the marriage of an Utaku and Doji."
The Lion meant to continue until Ryouko left her statement hanging in the air, proceeding an wakward few moments of silence. Seijuro's face goes even. However, there is something that he cannot hide with a steely display of his on. His samurai mask falters in his eyes, the golden orbs revealing emotion that was often kept at bay. They only came to the surface every so often, only when he was reminded of her. It wouldn't take a skilled courtier to read what they were - deep sorrow, and an even deeper regret. The bane of all samurai.
"I was," his voice cracks, no longer strong but vulnerable. "My mother is a Unicorn. My Father was an Akodo."

Ryouko paused, sensing the shift in his tone. She looked back at him, unsure what had lead to such a change. "Were you only there to see the new arrivals, or do you have your own horse stabled?" She asked, hoping she wasn't stepping on hot coals with the question.

Seijuro breathed in and out, inhaling as he tried to seize control of the pain in his heart once more.
"No... I... hai, I have a horse. His name is Bunsho... just a pony." He looked back to Ryouko, a woman who very much reminded him of his mother. It was more than just the family, but the way she spoke and carried herself with Honor. Prone to her own fits of anger. He almost said so, but that would just make things more awkward...
"Meeting the horses is just an added bonus. I like to ride in the mornings, and I tend to get to know all the stabled horses here. I got to meet your horse Daisuke this morning too."

She groaned slightly. "Oh dear, I hope he didn't bother you too much... I swear the big brute likes others more then he likes me!" She said with a soft smile, glancing toward the window as if she could see her companion from here. Her whole expression seemed to soften when she spoke of her horse, and for a moment it was as if she was someone else. In a blink it was gone, and she looked back at him, the natural hardness of her face returned.
"Would it be too bold of me to ask you if you would like a partner for your morning rides? Daisuke hates being locked up inside for too long, and I haven't really have had much time to ride him in the last few days. At least compared to our usual schedule." There was that annoyance and anger that he would have seen the first time they'd met. Her eyes squinted and her jaw clenched slightly. It obviously wasn't directed at him, and didn't last very long, vanishing with a deep breath.

"Nah, it was fun. He seems like a troublemaker, and he did get loose, but he's a good horse. I'm used to wrangling them in," Seijuro admitted, pushing his melancholy away once more and returning finally to a semblance of normality. When Ryouko made her request, the Akodo considered it for a moment as he watched her expression harden - just like with Hitomi this morning, it was hard for people like them to be confined to the city. It would probably do her some good, and he had to admit he could probably use the company.
"Hai, that sounds like fun. I like to get up before dawn, usually; I'll ride Bunsho out to a nearby wooded area and practice my kata if I get up early enough." He gives the Utaku an affirmative nod. "Sure, let's do it then Ryouko-san. How about Sunday morning?"
