Post by Daidoji Satoru on Jan 22, 2018 16:41:26 GMT -5
Throughout the whole ordeal, Satoru was as silent as the grave. He wasn't struggling, but he was hardly impressive either. He was definitely questioning why he didn't just make a u-turn upon entering, or lie about a previous appointment. He felt like he clearly did not belong here, a black sheep among them.
For the most part he kept a respectful distance, and if he ever so much as whiffed someone he'd apologize profusely for it under his breath.
What am I doing here? It's not like there's going to be a men's team...so I'm just wasting everybody's time. He considered leaving after a few laps. Sometimes a sport just isn't for somebody, yeah? They'd understand. Probably.

"Hey Daidoji-sama! Good job!" she smiles to him as he makes his rounds "She has not picked up on his discomfort at being the only man in the room, for whatever reason that may be, but she is workiong hard to amke sure this is a welcoming environment for everybody. The track was the place that she felt confident, it was where she wass able to come alive, and she wasn't about to let it make someone else feel like shit.

Suzaku enters after gathering in a breath. The only way to improve at something was to do it. He had been working on being stronger and improving his endurance, and a rough sport may be what he needed. His perpetual smile on his face he entered and bowed to Priya in recognition, though he stood aside for now so as not to interrupt.

She gestures the sparrow over with a smile and explains the warm up to him. It looked like they had quite a few here now. She was pleased with the way it turned out.

"I admit I'm partially here because my class was moved to second period and I saw this as an opportunity to get stronger. I've never even skated." Suzaku nodded a moment. "But I'll give my damnedest." Suzaku is rather unsteady on his feet, used to being more rooted and with wheels he quickly falls flat. And again. And again. Well, it appeared he had found another way to build his tolerance for pain and damage. (( 7 orokos.com/roll/587253 ))

Upon hearing Priya's praise, Satoru seemed just a little more determined. He wasn't chatty at all however, focusing most on not falling and making a spectacle of himself.
When the Sparrow arrived, the Daidoji nearly mistook him for another girl given the pattern of things, but once he was on and off skates, Satoru finally took note of Suzaku.
It would not lead to a more talkative Crane, but at least he was no longer thinking of how he could escape without disrespecting anybody. Besides...he was starting to enjoy the exercise. It was a change of pace from practicing in the morning and cycling every other day.

Suzaku pushed himself up slowly, ignoring bruises and sparring injuries from the day before and last night's workout. He then focuses on being rooted, but agile and ready to keep his balance and finally rights himself to the proper position to not fall. He beams with pride. He must dream of sky and walk on the earth, paying mind again to the old Sparrow proverb, and not become so rooted in his current obsession with Earth that he forgets the agility and grace required to be a true heir of Doji Suzume.
