If there was any expression upon Tsuki's features, it was washed away in a fit of quiet laughter from Tsuki. She shook her head at the ever so generous Dragon as she looked back to him from the incense. "No, no, Yoshi-san, I am just truly honored that you would share such a thing with me. What you picked out is nothing short of wonderful quality and I feel like giving me half of it is almost too kind."
Tsuki brushed a bang behind her ear as she flashed a smile at Yoshi. "Besides, if you give me half, you'll have only a little to keep with you. How about you share just," She plucked up a single stick from his hand, "One with me, for now, okay?"

Yoshi is uncertain what to make of Tsuki's laughter at first, though what she says after makes him feel guilty for harboring even the slightest doubt that it was anything but joyful. Those words, and the flash of a smile, melt away any insecurity he may have been feeling. What's left is a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
"I'm... happy to have honored you," he tells her. "But... at least, please take three." Besides just being a mathematical repayment of the additional two sticks they'd shared on previous visits, it also meant that she'd still have a part of his gesture to take with her after, a sentiment which shone in his eyes even if he didn't voice it.
"One for each of our days here together," he does say, though very quietly.

Her hand lingered a bit in the air as if to silently speak about her hesitation on the offer. It was a moment but to some a moment could be eternity, and to others it could even be something worse. Yet she took the sticks offered to her, one and then two, into her fingers. Tsuki smiled as she carefully pulled out her own box of incense and set them within.
"One for each of our days here together," She repeated just as quietly.

As the third stick is lit for Fukurokujin and they begin their prayers, its bitter aroma focuses Yoshi's thoughts. He considers knowledge, what it is, and what it means to possess it. He also reflects upon the knowledge he has and has gained since coming to RHS. When they've finished, he turns to Tsuki with a smile and a look of realization on his face.
"I barely know anything about you, Tsuki-san...," he tells her, "...and... I don't feel like I have to. I mean... I want to, but... it's like a Togashi's riddle. Finding an answer is good... but pondering the question is what's most important." He swallows a hard lump in his throat, thankful that they were going to Bishamon next, for he was sure he'd need some additional strength to say any more.

Tsuki finds herself in unison with Yoshi as their prayers begin. The incense helped and she had not the pleasure of knowing the scent Yoshi had chosen. She would have to ask when everything was said in done, but for now she focused on the fortune. Wisdom was his domain. She felt gifted with it from the start, but that didn't mean she knew all. Her time at RHS, her lessons from her mother and father, he schools teachings and the sensei that helped guide her. All those experiences and the lessons within them.
Her hands found themselves in her lap once more as the last of her prayer ceased. She looked up to Yoshi and shook her head lightly, "So then, Yoshi-san, what is it that you ponder about the question of me?"

Yoshi blushed hard at the question. Bishamon would have to wait, because she was asking him to elaborate right now. He thinks for what feels like a long time, but it’s also spent summoning the courage to speak the words.
"To ponder the question of you...," he begins, collecting his thoughts by repeating her first, "...is to contemplate ones that can't be answered just by asking. Like... what are these feelings I have when we're together, and why do I have them? Do they come from being in this holy place, and if we were somewhere else... maybe it wouldn’t be the same? I wonder... every time I look at you... how fragile is this perfection?" He turns away, breathing hard, visibly spent from the outpouring of confused emotion he just put forth.
"I'm sorry," he says, ashamed. "I... I said too much." He wonders, why did she have to ask? Why did he have to answer so bluntly?

She smiled again, as she always had. Her fingers played with the prayer beads she kept with her, her gaze shifting to the fortune they had placed their faith in. Hoped to receive guidance from. It was a very good question to ask her and even more one that left an impression. Quietly, in a voice so clear, the woman mused aloud, "I wonder too."
Yet she looked towards the Dragon and Tsuki shook her head at the man. "You said what you felt needed to be said, Yoshi-san. There is nothing to be sorry in that. More men and woman would do better to hear what needs to be said, instead of worrying about if it should spoken at all."

She wonders too. SHE WONDERS TOO! Yoshi's brain screams in silent joy as he smiles from ear to ear. His mental celebration is cut short however, as Tsuki addresses him directly, reassuring him that what he'd told her was nothing to be ashamed of. He nods in agreement first, then bows his head humbly in thanks for her advice and commpliment.
"I'll remember that, Tsuki-san," he promises, lifting his eyes to her once more. Feeling that there was something else he needed to express, he searches for more words, and in so doing, ends up finding just enough. "But... it can also be a good thing... when nothing needs to be said at all."
Slowly, the young Dragon rises to his feet. After a glance toward Bishamon's statue, their next intended destination, he pauses in thought, frowning as if making a very important decision. A moment later, his smile returns as he looks down and extends his hand to the kneeling Crane.

"There is balance in all things." Tsuki says with a smile of her own, an acknowledgment of both the truth in Yoshi's words and in how they are both right.
Were they perhaps in a more crowded area or one where rumors might fly far quicker, it would have been easy for her to both thank the young man for his kind gesture of aid and decline, but that wasn't the case. As he stood before her and offered her a smile, she believed he did it with a sense of courage and strength that had taken some conviction to perform. How could she, when in the face of such truth, decline his sincere and kind gesture? She couldn't, and that is why her fingers gently fell into his as she rose up with his aid.
"Thank you, Yoshi-san."

His own boldness frightened him a little, heart pounding as she paused to consider the offer, but Yoshi felt immediately at ease when Tsuki accepted his help up. Wanting the moment last just a bit longer, he thought to use that hand to lead her to Bishamon, but he was even more elated to find them moving as one. When their hands parted, it was mutual as well, and he felt no loss of connection for the lack of contact.
Kneeling in front of the Fortune of Strength, Yoshi took out one of his seventeen remaining sticks and lit it upon a candle as they'd done before Fukurokujin. His prayers were mostly of thanks, but also for whatever was coming next. As his mind considered that, with the aroma of the incense swirling around them, he was struck by yet another inspiration to act.
"Tsuki-san...," he speaks her name after enough time had passed that both their prayers were complete. Turning to face the woman knelt beside him, he tells her, "I... I've thought of a way we can... maybe make clearer, what we both... wonder." He looks her in the eyes now, searching.
"Otomo Katsumi-sensei is having a party open to everyone at her mansion tomorrow night," he says, softly but quickly so he doesn't have a chance to stop and reconsider. "My room mate Akodo Ichiro-sama is taking me. Find me there. If... if it doesn't feel the same, then... we'll know it was just about being here. You can walk away like you don't even know me, and... and at least we'll still have this."
