'That would be a relief,' she thought.
"If you wish, hai," was what came out; Truthfully, just hearing for herself would make it all make sense, she felt like.

It shouldn't be possible for a human to do this and yet Ryoko stops to think of the happiest thing she can then starts purring exactly like a kitten. As she does so she starts swaying back and forth on the possibly water-slickened floor, dancing lightly to whatever it is she's imagining.

Momiko gave a small smile, "That is quite the talent you have there, samurai... Oh! Right, I never introduced myself, apologies."
She hastily bowed, "Asahina Momiko, transfer student. An honour."

It looked as though Ryoko was about to introduce herself when she started slipping on the floor. Her arms flailed wildly to try to catch her balance.. only to fall forward and into Mommiko before she can hit the ground!
The small girl looked up from her awkward position, one that probably wouldn't serve either of them well if someone were to walk in on them, then quickly straightened, blushed, and bowed profusely!
"I'm so clumsy! Please forgive this one, Asahina-sempai!" After a few more bows to try to get her apology across the girl offered a more proper bow. "It's an honor to meet you, Asahina-sempai. This one is Asako Ryoko. I just completed my gempukku last school year."

Fortunately, Momiko has a lot of cushioning in that area, so the landing for the poor girl is quite soft. And she isn't knocked over thanks to being near the doorway. So it's more a process of disentangling than anything. If Momiko is terribly bothered by the incident, it doesn't show.
"It's not a problem, Asako-san. Really," she said with a smile, "So... I guess it's the first year at RHS for both of us then?"

Ryoko nodded with a blush at the incident and the softness. Rather than dwell on it, she paused at the question and considered it carefully before offering, “Who would then deny that when I am sipping tea in my tearoom I am swallowing the whole universe with it and that this very moment of my lifting the bowl to my lips is eternity itself transcending time and space?”
Are we sure this little Asako isn't a Togashi instead? Either way, Ryoko blushes further at her response, offering. "H-hai. M-my otou-san and okaa-san were both graduates of the school some time before the Onyx War." That was followed with a frown, "I hope okaa-san didn't try to use her influence to get me in."

She WAS a curious one indeed. Though that last part caused the most thought within, "Oh? You're worried perhaps you got preferential treatment? I'll admit, I worry about that sort of thing too; I know my family made a generous donation to the school before I came... I think we both just want to be judged on our own merits, right?"

Ryoko nodded slowly, a frown offered as she heard Momiko's admission on her parents' donation.
"My faults derive from my parents, my virtues my own. How foolish is this?" came her cryptic answer that answered Momiko's question as honestly as it could. Either way she sat down to dry off while looking over to the Asahina student with a bit of confusion. "Are they just afraid we can't succeed, Asahina-san? Or is it an instinct for them to protect, just as a mama cat would her kittens?"

"I think it's usually the latter, not the former. I think. I do suppose it depends on the parents in question. But I think it's the latter, in my case. ...I guess I could ask though? I mean, I don't even know how much of where I am and how much is thanks to my parents; Perhaps I do not see things as they really are, like I have some sort of bias or misconception. I know the popular line is that we teenagers think we know a lot more than we really do, maybe I'm just feeling stifled but I'm more free than I think."
The shower had been forgotten for the moment. As had the fact that she was standing around in her undies.

Ryoko listened carefully and for a moment the look on her face made it seem like the conversation was a bit too philosophical for the younger girl. But then she just smiled and bowed her head slowly to Momiko, paying no mind to the fact the Crane student was still in her undies.
"I think that's a question everyone asks themselves at some point. How much of me is because of my parents and how much is because of the environments I was exposed to growing up."
She smiled a bit as she continued to dry off from the shower, "Ano... what year student are you, Asahina-san?"
