"Other than for my family, not really," Aiko replies, setting the tray on the coffee table and picking up the pot to pour tea for the two of them, "I mean, I kept the job all three years, but once I graduated...went on a warrior's pilgrimage to clear my head for a year, and then there was that Winter Court, just before the Onyx War, then...that whole mess. And after that, working to help start a theater program and helping out aspiring manga-kas in the Dragon lands, before coming here to teach."

Akane smiles and nods as she listens, sitting down in her patented all-in sort of way, "Yeah, I remember most of that from your letters. Which I read more than a few times. Even the ones you packed food with, believe it or not."

Aiko laughs softly, then leans picks up a bowl of curry and her chopsticks, "Well, I just figured that the food was just a better way to get your attention."
A pause as Aiko looks out at all the manga around her, "You want to know something, Akane? The will I wrote, back in the Onyx War? You would have been the one who would have received all the manga I collected, simply because I wanted you to read them and be able to recall happier times."

She picked up her own chopsticks and said a blessing for the food under her breath.

Aiko nods a little, "Yeah. I did. Because I knew something big was coming and...I wanted to be prepared, just in case, as I was in the thick of it. There weren't many people I gave specific things to, but...you were one of them."

Akane nodded thoughtfully as she chewed a bite, swallowing, "Well... thankfully you didn't need it; I'd trade all the manga in the world for my Aiko-chan. Even the naughty ones with pretty girls."

Aiko blushes at that, taking a few bites, "...Yeah. I'm glad that I didn't need it either. But I'd rather have had it and not needed it than to not have it and have my manga end up in a shrine somewhere, unread and unloved."

Another nod, mouth full before swallowing, "Yeah. I mean, now that I think about it, I can't exactly just leave Kunshu to someone anyways; Though I can't exactly ask her opinion. And as to the rest, I don't even know where to send my katana."
