The rain beat down, heavy, relentless. It poured and poured, washing away so much.
Uetani sat on the roof, her legs huddled to her as she thinks, pouts, loses herself to though.
It is a dangerous time for her, thinking, being alone. It is times like these that she thinks of her, she who she lost. Kasumi.
When she thinks of her, then she comes, and it is a blessed pain, a joy and a disaster. She sees her sister again, but she also sees what her sister has become, desperate and grasping. Hungry. She was always hungry, for glory, for friendship, for honour an success. All those things that she demands Uetani be in her name.
She clears the thoughts from her head, shaking them away as she stands, and walks to the edge of the roof, looking down, balanced so precariously...

Despite being soaked through, Nomen belonged up here. Above, looking down at life continuing on. Invisible to the world she didn't belong in.
Except to one girl the thought managed to sneak into her mind, and she shook that thought from her mind. The princess had gone away. There was no point dwelling on that for now. No, instead she focused on something more unusual; a girl getting soaked on the rooftop that wasn't her.
Nomen crept closer, examining the girl, not trying to make her jump. She decided to speak before she got too close.
"Slippery tiles on that side, I wouldn't recommend it" she said simply.

"Nomen-san" she moves away "I suppose that I would need a sea, before I honoured my ancestors in dying that way"
She moves to the other girl and bows, showing affection the only way that Rokugani can "How was your summer?"

"Uetani?" Nomen looked surprised "didn't think I'd see you on this rooftop. Haven't seen you since...Tsuma?" she bowed.
She shrugged at the comment on summer.
"Spent it getting sand out of my shoes. Pretty terrible, in all honesty. You?"

"A collection of days, footsteps in my past" she shrugs "I missed the first day didn't I? Not even met my room mate yet"
She looks back out over the area below "The rain is strong today"

Nomen moved closer, looking down where uetani was looking.
"You didn't miss much, if it helps" she knew the woman well enough that it wouldn't "rains kinda ideal though. I felt like I needed a good soaking" she chuckled, then sighed "it's good to see you again, and while not the same rooftop, almost exactly where I last saw you. Outside, at least. Wasn't it raining that day too?"

"It always rains, in my memory" she admits "I am sure that there have been sunny days, but the rain always seems to be there"
She steps a little closer, almost flirtatiously so. She is often that way, but never crossing the line
"It is good to see you too though, as always, you are the sun in my rain"

"I'm not a sun, and you know it Tani-chan" Nomen smirked, reaching over to brush a wet hair from the girls face "I'm just the lesser wet dark right now. How long you been up here? I need to know whether I'm carrying you back to my room again to warm you up or just enjoying your company." There was a slight tease in her voice.

"Such a flirt Nomie-chan" she teases "Lets stay up here a bit longer yet. Make it really worth it when you peel my clothes away"

Nomen chuckled. "You've not changed a bit, Tani-chan." She walked past the girl, sitting down on the edge of the roof, her feet dangling over the edge. "How are you?" The question wasn't asked in a teasing tone, but a softer, almost caring one, as her eyes moved to meet the Cranes.
