Seijuro pauses for a few moments, before looking back up to Aiko. That answer was good enough for now, at least. If he could trust in the words of anyone, it would be her.
"My Father spoke highly of you in his journals. He said you were a good friend. That you were always there for him. He seemed really... proud to know you." Another pause. "Do you think he would be proud of me?"

Aiko pauses, looking at the young man, thoughtfully, "I suspect he would be, Akodo-san, as any father would of a son who dutifully takes after him."

Seijuro nodded and smiled, huffing out a small laugh in response to her words.
"I hope so. I know he is ever at my side. At times I think I can feel his hand on my shoulder, urging me forwards towards the path I know I must take. I follow in his footsteps if only to understand the path he tread."
The Akodo stands, brushing off his pants though the dojo floor was immaculately clean. "I can see where it leads. The mantle that Tayuko-dono wishes me to take up." Another pause. "I miss him - it is strange to miss a man who has been dead your whole life, but he feels so real."

"If Matsu Tayuko-dono feels I am worthy, she is willing to officially recognize me as Akodo Arasou-shiryo's heir - and not just his bastard. She wants me to inherit the position of Lion Clan Champion."

Aiko looks at the young man, then shakes her head a little, sighing, "I would not wish that burden on anyone, Akodo-san. There is something to be said for being someone minor."

"I'm... not sure. I still have things I need to do first, I think. I just don't want Arasou-shiryo to be disappointed. I really hurt my... Mother."
Seijuro couldn't name her. He couldn't expose her shame. She was an Utaku after all, and despite all the things that had happened between them, he still loved her. Even if he had abandoned her. Besides, it was likely Aiko knew who his mother was already.
