"Of course, he could have ended up in a political marriage. Not all are so blessed by Benten," Seijuro mused casually; that would have perhaps ended worse for the young Akodo if so. Seijuro set his tea cup back down, looking back to Aiko. There was still more truth he needed to uncover.
"Sensei, I'm sorry to continue prying like this... I was hoping you could also tell me about my Father's death. They said he was the first Thunder to fall."

Aiko closes her eyes, recalling that last battle, where she had spent a good chunk of the fight separated from the others, keeping Akuma-no-Oni from interfering with the main attraction, nodding a little. She opens her eyes, taking a deep breath before replying.
"Hai. He was. He died a true samurai, Akodo-san. He fought hard, but...the skill of a warrior does not always mean he will survive."

Seijuro smiles happily at her explanation. It was a relief to know that his Father had a good death. It was a miracle that all of them could face such horrors, if the tales were true - many samurai would cower in fear in the face of such odds. The Elemental Terrors, 3 Oni Lords, and then Fu Leng himself in the skin of the Usurper.
"I'm just glad that is the case, that you were all able to survive and endure such horror for the sake of Rokugan. If you had all failed, I might not be here." The Akodo lowers his head in reverence and respect; for all intents and purposes, Aiko was essentially a living, divine being. She was a Thunder, after all. "Thank you, for all that you sacrificed."
