Koshiro's eyes dart between Akane and the dark sword, trying to gauge whether her words and intentions are true.
He gulps. He takes a step forward. A pause. Another step. He holds the broom to his chest defensively. Another step. Another pause. Another step. The distance seemed to take forever, each step wondering if it'd be his last.
Finally he is there, wincing a bit. He looks at the sword, his feet ready to flee should any dangerous movements happen. Or try to flee. Who knows what will happen.

Akane doesn't move, nor does the sword. Instead, some of the red-black mist reaches out to brush across one of his hands.
As it does so, pictures pop into his mind; War, samurai, darkness, at first. But then? A tall girl with pale skin and long dark hair wearing nothing, her expression completely innocent and curious. She disappears and the picture turns into scenes; A dark stormy night on a cliff, diving into a spring in the woods, standing under a shower head with the water hitting his face as someone sings, a short girl with brown hair on a wooden boat blushing, an ice cream parlor, a young man with earnest featues staring at him...
It all takes only a few seconds, but it's all vivid like a fresh memory. Akane simply tilts her head curiously.

Confusion. Very much confusion. Koshiro's cheeks were flushed from seeing a nude woman. Vivid scenes. Was that... his adopted mom? What were these scenes he was seeing?
The ronin boy blinked when it was done. He takes a step back in surprise. "Wh-What... what was that... what... just happened... mom? Why..."

That was certainly an unusual reaction cor Kunshu saying 'hi'; Usually the person just saw a few memories, Kunshu as she'd last been as a human, and a feeling of warmth and curiosity. So the cheek flushing was normal, but...
"She didn't mean any harm. Honest."

The broom clatters as it hits the floor, dropped as Koshiro falls backwards onto his bottom. "S-Sorry, I just... like... I guess I should be used to magic, but... okay, really didn't expect that..." He shakes his head. "What were those scenes I saw? Memories? The sword's memories? Does the sword know my mom?" He looks up at the sword. "I've never had a nemuranai show me its memories... I mean sure, I know a spell that tells me details about items, but not this way, not like this."

"Most nemuranai haven't been around for two thousand years, nor been in a human body. Which I gathered you saw hers from the flush you had. ...but your mom?"
Akane pulled Kunshu back, looking down at her, "She was showing you memories yes. Hers. But never had anyone tell me they recognized anyone from any of them like that."

Koshiro sighs and gets up, rubbing the back of his head as he picks up his broom. "Well, maybe I mistook the person I saw in her memory for my mom. I do kinda miss her, so maybe I was just projecting her onto that person in your sword's memory. It was a quick flash really. Sorry about that. Your sword must be pretty special if it can do things like that."

She chuckles a little, "I told you, she's Kunshu, sword of the first Hantei. I wasn't kidding you know; She was created for a god. Most special sword in the world, though that's not the only reason to me. Still... what'd yah see that made you think of your mother? Tell me?"
She gave the scruffy looking ronin big puppy dog eyes after putting Kunshu back in her saya for now.

"Oh, uh..." Them puppy dog eyes, matched with them big puppies? It's just not fair, man. "J-just a brief flash of a girl. Kinda seemed like my adopted mom. I-It's silly, I'm sorry." He turns around and returns to sweeping up the area.

Akane nodded a little, smiling warmly, "Well, I'm sorry if any of this disturbed you. I definitely didn't want to do that. I hope it doesn't change your opinion of me or Kunshu?"
