She smiled as he talked to her about Shourido, letting him finish before she moved on to her own rebuttal, "But isn't claiming that it must be a Shourido virtue is itself wrong? Knowledge for the sake of knowledge itself does nothing for a person. But Knowledge for the sake of being Compassionate and Courteous to those around you, to understand them does." She kept her smile, even toned...

Eito laughs softly tapping his lips. "Well it is a virtue and virtues always serve each other. Knowledge does serve Compassion as well as it serves Insight. The difference in the way we practice it, is the degree. We would learn forbidden knowledge, or seek to know the truth beyond the word of an honorable samurai. If a freind of yours is accused of doing something awful but, for instance, Mirumoto Aiko-Sensei claims she is sure your freind did it, would you take her at her honorable word? Or would you strive to learn the truth for yourself. That is our knowledge. And yes, it serves Compassion and Courtesy beautifully. But sometimes it can work against them. Knowledge tells me that when a Samurai is bleeding out on the battlefield, and claiming they feel no pain, that I would ignore the courtesy demanded and understand that they are suffering and do what I can to aid them. A situation I have sadly seen before."

"Mm." She nodded at the at the idea of it, "I understand that knowledge is important. And knowing what you speak of more so. More than one company in this nation has been ruined by the eldest child knowing nothing of business, and being put to ascend due to being the eldest and the heir for that." Totally isn't a personal representation of a complaint she has about the 'honorable' society they live in, nope. "And I also understand ignoring courtesy's at times. Though you've also seen me, I am rather bad at a lot of the things people expect of me, ne?"

Eito chuckles. "Exactly, that sort of thing is what our culture tries to stop. And I have seen you enough to know that you follow, to my vision, many of my ideals without claiming them as your own. Willful. Determined. You control others but never without love in your heart. I do imagine if I wasn't far more guarded you would be controlling me. Tell me, what was it you wished to get me to do for you. I don't think its attraction if rumors about you are true."

"Control others, mm?" She raised an eyebrow, and giggled softly, "I suppose I can make people see my way, sometimes." Okay, what she did with Hitomi was pretty extreme even for her. But it felt nice to be praised for it, "I mean, do you think I don't control you at least a little?" She said it with a little giggle, that made it hard to tell if she was being serious or not, "Getting you to pay attention to me. Want to favor me. Give me aid beyond what a student should likely receive from unbiased teachers. All from being charming, and showing you things you like to see." A giggle into her fingers, as she let him play with that for a moment, "I want an ally, is all. Someone I can rely on pushing me to greater heights. And you fit the bill, by liking my ambition. Not fearing it."

I am good at it but... I find sometimes the best dance is one done together. Where each person gains and profits. I love your ambition. I just want to fine tune it. Make it more effective, more dangerous and...more virtuous if you would believe me. Partially by ...corrupting you to my way of view but also by helping you get stronger."

I've just never seen the point in a dance that only exists to ruin the ball for the other dancers." A smile as she made the metaphor, and leaned on her hands, "Corrupting me, mm? Trying to make a Spider out of an Imperial? Scandalous. You better have a very cute girl, if you want me to bite on that change in family." A wink, she's obviously joking with him.

Where we make our path the best way to reach your destination. I mean I would love you to be a Spider in name, like Shibatsu became, but I would settle for a Spider in spirit. Leading the Empire in the future. And I mean, we do have some cute girls. No daughters of my own but If I ever have one, she would be lucky to know your affections."

She giggled into her fingers, not minding the idea, but she had to point it out, "Well, it'd be like if you charmed me. Would that bother you, or are you okay with your favored student seducing your daughter who is so much younger than her, mm?" It had an important aspect to judge too - because if he was okay and open to the idea of older women with younger women, well, he could be someone she could be open with, if she ever ended up with one of the Sensei and needed advice. But she played it up as just being cute and teasing. Just a little bit of the Otomo dance.
"Well, I can't promise to be your representative, or take over the courts for you like some sort of traitor... but I can promise that I have no intention to dislike your clan, or disfavor them unfairly."
