Due to the chaotic nature of RHS class scheduling, there were some new faces in Chemistry today, but Saito already did the first-class routine of drilling in Lab Safety with threats of horrible death and forcing them all to wash glassware in an attempt to make the less-serious students drop the class in frustration. It can be assumed he performs a truncated version for any of the new faces before getting down to the actual material.
"Welcome, class," he greets them. "Today, we'll be talking about the elements. Guess what? There are more than four." He pulls down a chart of the Periodic Table.
"As we all know," he continues, "everything is made up of the Four Elements of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. What modern science has discovered, however, is that what we perceive as these occurring in nature are not as they actually exist in their purest, concetrated form. "Fire", for example, is actually a chemical reaction between other elements that are primarily Air and Earth. "Water" is itself a combination of two types of Air, and we know that it actually becomes mostly Air itself at certain temperatures. What makes it "Water" as we know it is due to these Air elements, Oxygen and Hydrogen, containing the element of Water on a molecular level."
