"Yeah!" She beamed, giggling as she did so, but then shaking her head, "Not by blood though." A little smile, sweet and... happy, in its own way, not the same beamed giggly smile, "We're family though, according to her. And me. As valuable as any of her family, and her as any of mine." She was thoughtful and sweet for that moment, her voice tender like she was talking about the most important thing in the world to her.
"I am pretty sure one of the rumors I heard today was about me, actually. I have the code to her door, and we were in there last night for a long while." A little blush, as she admitted to being part of why her Nee-chan was getting these bad rumors.

"Ah. Well... I don't listen to rumors. Not much anyways. Don't see much value in them, what other people are up to and such. Kinda their business and all, right? And if it was really something important it wouldn't just be a rumor, I think."
Akane gave a curt nod, "Still, it's surprising to hear you're so close to Hisi-chan; She's, like, one of my best friends. Surprised she never told me about you. I mean, apart from the fact you're like a sister to her, not mentioning someone who I might relate to so well..."
She paused, "Though, knowing her, maybe that's half the point?"

"She probably knew that if I met you, I'd fall for you~!" She giggled at the idea of Hisui trying to keep Akane and her apart, the image of her desperately making sure neither of them got together because they were too much alike. "Or maybe she thought we were so similar, we'd get into fights!" She playfully popped Akane's arm with her left - free - hand. "Grr~!"
"But yeah, she told me you were super close. And that I could trust you with anything. So there goes any worries I had~"

Akane wondered briefly if Hisui knew what Akane thought of when she thought about 'fighting' with a beautiful girl...
"Well she's right; I'm like, super trustworthy, you know? Honor of the Lion and all that. Just cause I'm a Spider doesn't mean I've lost any of that."
Akane seemed proud of that.

"I trust you." Mako said it seriously, as she leaned up in her seat to kiss Akane's cheek, "I would not have welcomed you into my home if I didn't trust you. You're kind, sweet, a lovely person on the inside, as beautiful a spirit as a body." She had no shame in how she said it, complimenting Akane with the most sincere of words, "I hope you understand that I didn't invite you here, into my home and heart, because you are merely pretty. I did so because I like who you are, and what you believe in." "I don't think whose Clan you fall under matters at all for how trustworthy you are. Akane's smile widens and she nods to Mako, looking at her with her sea green eyes, "Yup! There's a lot more to beauty than just looks. That's why I like Aiko-chan and Hisi-chan so much, since they have such beautiful hearts. And hey, hopefully those things you think about me will only grow as you get to know me, neh? ...though I suppose that's good question; Just how much have you heard about me from Hisi-chan and the news and such?"

Mako was smiling back, as she looked at Akane, as she watched her reaction, it made her happy that this woman shared her opinion of not only what was valuable, but in part who. It made her very happy to hear someone valuing Hisui for her heart. "I'm certain they will grow ever stronger. My feelings are only a flower beginning to bloom for now." She left it for a moment - the news? She... she didn't really watch the news much, sadly, so she had to go off what Hisui had shared, "She mostly told me about how you are one of the most valuable people in her life. Someone she trusts more than anything. Who is a paragon among all the sensei. Never much about what you two have specifically done..."
A little hesitation, "I must admit, I only know you from what you have told me. I've never been good at recognizing people. My apologies."

"Ah. That's cool; It's actually probably better being known for who you are than what others think of you, neh? It's certainly not something you need to apologize for. Heh... and it's getting on in time I suppose... you would have been pretty young the last time I would have been on television."
Akane seemed amused, perhaps half relieved.

"Hai? Surely not." Mako seemed genuinely confused at this woman saying that, "You should be on television every day, in my own opinion. The fact that I haven't seen you on it recently is a shameful thing." A giggle, as she leaned up to kiss Akane's cheek again. She really enjoyed kissing this woman, as they ate, and talked, "But I too am glad I know you for you. I shall forever be thankful for your urge to swim in your underwear."

"I'm not saying I shouldn't be; Just saying since the last time I was. Used to be a Rokulympics athlete for the Spider, won a half dozen medals for the Clan over a decade back now. And I was a guest contestant on that old celebrity dancing show back in the day, won that too. After that though I started teaching five and six year olds back in Otosan Uchi, so I've been out of the limelight for a while."
She smiled at the kiss, turning to Mako and kissing her on the forehead, "And I will be forever thankful for the invite... and the gift as well I should think."
