"You could have done less, like not butting in," Saito tells him. "Once the ire of your superiors reaches a certain level, trying to quell it only makes things worse. You also could've done less with respect to the twins, such as give them a wider berth than you obviously did. Again, I'm letting that slide only because they've been removed from the board."

"Well, we're in a bit of limbo now, back to observing and reporting," Saito tells him. "Just do your best to gather information on any fellow students you happen to befriend. You might pay particular attention to the popular ones, too; there are two idol singers here, a Yasuki girl and a Doji girl, as well as the newly-famous miss Kuni Hinata, who has achieved that hard-earned status of being hot enough to date the crown Prince. They like your kind, the open and trustworthy sort. Apparently the Kuni's current circle of friends consists of a gaggle of unremarkable First Years, with the possible exception of the Last Horiuchi."

"It seems, with only a few exceptions, that the students here are largely unconcerned with the politics of their elders," Saito tells him. "Still, it would behoove us to keep an eye on the situation as it develops. I know Nomen was assigned the Crab specifically, but she seems to have... lost focus... of late. You might be better suited to feel out the Crab and their opinions toward us, either through Hinata, her entourage, or perhaps even the Yasuki idol."

"I'd rather we weren't fighting with anyone; it can be exhausting and counter to the purpose of actually getting an education," Saito grumbles. He wonders how many classes Nomen has actually bothered to attend, but thinks better of considering her an actual student rather than the tool she is. "Politically, we're still at odds with the Crab, since their Champion has taken umbrage with ours, to the point of dueling her betrothed to the death. However, while the Crab presence at this school remains one oaf of a teacher and two little girls, I don't think we need to worry about open conflict with any great immediacy." He sighs.
"The simpler answer is, not until we receive direct orders to fight anyone else," Saito tells him. "And after the mess that fighting with the upstart Otomo made, I'm in no great hurry to seek any such orders out, either."
