"Yeah... um... no, not a shugenja," Yoshi confirms, trying not to sound too depressed by the admission. "It's... not really something you can tell just by looking at a person though, so don't feel bad. I mean... especially since they make us wear uniforms." He reaches into his pocket and takes out an ancient phone with a tiny black and white screen. It's an old Rokia brand, renowned for their durability and little else.
"If you'd seen me with this, though," he says, "you'd know I could hardly bring up a Spell Scroll app, like pretty much everyone uses these days." He smiles, pleased to have offered Uetani a small lesson in observation and deduction. Sharing knowledge was a good thing as far as he was concerned, plus doing so helped him fight away the opressive feelings of uselessness for being unable to speak to the kami.

"Do you... charge it with prayer?" Yoshi says teasingly, chuckling at the mental image of Uetani doing so. "Sorry... sorry. Just... a funny thought I had to share. No, I don't know a lot about computers either, and I don't think I could get a nicer phone than the one I have to do anything I wanted it to do without someone's help." He shakes his head and returns his Rokia to his pocket.
"The internet itself isn't all that difficult, though," he tells her. "I... don't have my own laptop either, but I go to the campus library in my free time and use their computers to do homework, watch videos, whatever. I could show you some time, if you've been having trouble?"

"Honestly, the kind of videoa my roommate showed me, I am not sure that we could watch in the library." she offers a small smile at that "I would be happy to spend more time with you though, Yoshi-san. You are a pleasant young man, and those who had refused to be your friend in the past are obviously foolish"

"They were just kids," Yoshi says with a shrug of resignation. Still, he gives Uetani a smile as he adds, "I do thank you for your kind words nonetheless, Kakita-san." He bites his lower lip as he wonders if her room mate is one of her girlfriends, but politely refrains from asking.
"The... library computers have software that blocks browsing... pornographic sites," he explains, saying the last two words in almost a whisper. "Um... if that's what you meant."

"Oh... only a little tamer?" Yoshi asks, though he's immediately embarrassed to be inquiring after Uetani's tastes in the level of explicitness in her romantic media. "I mean... the library computers might allow that, but... you could get some unwanted stares from people walking by." There was that pop-up ad that he kept seeing for a Yuri series on a free anime-streaming site he used, but he'd never been quite bold enough to actually look into it.

"Is that one of the rumors going around?" Yoshi asks. "I hear them, but I tend to forget them. I prefer to only retain facts, if possible." He taps the side of his head and nods seriously.
"If you've seen the drawings, though... they didn't do any of me... did they?" he follows up. Certainly, if there were concrete facts to be had, especially if they pertained to him, he did want them.
