"Hostess Ding Dong... because... of the snack... and a doorbell sound... it was a pun," Yoshi explains lamely. He wonders how she might have learned about that, especially the title, and suspected Nadeshiko, recalling her tearful admission about being paid to spy on Hinata.
"It wasn't about sabotaging anything," he adds honestly.

She shakes her head. "I would describe it as quite rude though." She turns to face him completely. Standing up to her full height. She looks down at the Tamori. "But it would please you to know that I no longer have any interest in messing with dear Kuni Hinata-Chan. You would be so kind as to pass that message along Tamori-San?" She taps her finger to her chin. "On that note how is Horuichi-San? I hope she is doing well. I have not heard from her in sometime..."

"Isn't... messing with someone... equally or more rude?" Yoshi says as boldly as he dares, again putting up a meager fight with logic. "The... operation at the party... was just about letting Hinata-san know where you were... so that she could avoid you." He's not sure now if he's more embarrassed about the pun title or the fact that it failed so miserably. At least he felt some justification now in enacting it, since Katsumi was indeed harassing her by her own admission.
"I will tell Hinata-san that... you're not interested anymore... sure," he agrees, not meaning for that to sound like a double entendre, even if it did. "And Nadeshiko-san is fine; we had lunch together today." He doesn't offer any more information than that, though he wonders if that was already too much.

Otomo Katsumi raises her eyebrow. "Well you can inform her the deal we had arranged is off. She can keep her initial starting pay as a gift. However the other terms of our arrangement have been... terminated. She can look forward to a lovely recommendation to the Emperor soon." She offers an all to gentle smile. "Still there is the matter that you had conspired against a hostess at her own party from entertaining her guests. I fear as though some degree of punishment should be arranged for that as well." She rubs her chin. "Is Kuni Hinata-chan the ring leader of your little organization?"

"We're not an organization; we're just friends," Yoshi tells her, plainly and perhaps a bit firmly. "There's also no dishonor in failing to entertain a guest who does not wish to be entertained." He chooses to argue her point about his conspiring against her, event though he considers her premise false to begin with, having admitted she intended to mess with Hinata rather than entertain her.
"I'll give Nadeshiko-san your message too though, Otomo-sensei," he adds.

She smirks and takes a step forward. "Tell me about Horuichi-San." Her eyes were locked onto him. An intensity that only an Otomo could seem to muster. "She is a friend yes? But how can you possibly trust her. After all the last scion of her family. No doubt someone like her could betray you at a simple moments notice."

"If she needed to betray me to save her family... I would understand," Yoshi replies. "It would hurt, because we are friends, but I also know that having to do something like that would hurt her just as much. I trust her... because she's given me no reason to do otherwise." As much as a teenage student can before the imposing will of a teacher, he stands his ground against Otomo Katsumi.

She leans forward getting rather close to Tamori Yoshi. "Oh but can you truly tell me you would be okay with it though. Such a betrayal... Could never be forgiven." Her smile widens just a bit more. "You can't allow her to betray you and Kuni Hinata-Chan. She could be a problem. You must let her know that treachery such as she has performed is an acceptable thing."

"I did say I would be hurt, but I would also understand... and more importantly, forgive," Yoshi says keeping his eyes respectfully on her smile. "Hinata-san forgave Nadeshiko-san for spying on her for you, and I would follow her example." Well, that was a mistake. He hadn't meant to let Katsumi know that Nadeshiko had betrayed her confidence, but hopefully she already knew if she was terminating their arrangement. She knew about the silly name of their plan at her party, after all.

As I suspected. I'll have to deal with that Horiuchi once and for all. She sighs and shakes her head. "Oh what a pity, what a pity." She shakes her head and turns around to walk away. "Though if she so casually revealed her intentions to you. What is it to say that she can't so easily betray you again." She side eyes Tamori Yoshi. "After all how do you know that Kuni Hinata truly forgave her? Perhaps Kuni Hinata merely said that to save face. Is in secret plotting her vengeance against Horiuchi-San as we speak?" She turns to face the boy again. "As the soon to be empress she can see to it that Horiuchi-San could lose her family name. Now wouldn't that be devastating?"
