In the same classroom as yesterday, Ikoma Renmaru stands once more behind the podium. Rather than coffee, today he is sipping on some hot cocoa imported from the Colonies. He always enjoyed the chocolatey taste on cold, rainy days like these. He takes a moment to look out the window and appreciate the beauty of a spring storm, before his attention is back to reality.
He fetches a few of his books and sets them on the podium, rearranging them as he digs for his role book to take attendance with. His name is on the board again, and today's topic is a favorite of his - Literature.

Asako Ryoko walked into Literature class, humming a wordless tune to herself as she clasped her pack full of books with both hands. A half day or not, a rainy day or not, the little Phoenix seemed absolutely overjoyed to be coming to class this morning!
As she prepared to take her seat she bowed respectfully to the Ikoma who was teaching the class, a light purr of contentment hidden under her voice. "Ohayo gozaimasu, Ikoma-sensei! This one hopes Inari has blessed you today!"

This is one of the classes Reiha is particularly excited for! As a mangaka she is a storyteller after all, so this is right up her alley, so she must focus! Following her schedule and the handy map she ends up in this particular classroom. "Sumimasen..." She bows, quickly looking for the teacher's mon. "... Ikoma-sensei. Is this literature class? My name is Doji Reiha. I should be on the list! I am on the list, am I not?", she adds nervously. |

"Ohayooo!!!" Fumina calls excitedly, bubbily bouncing into the classroom with a bag slung across her shoulder. She pauses at the door, bowing to the sensei before finding a seat nearby. As the bag is lowered carefully onto the floor, the delicate shuffling of plastic pieces could be heard from within.

Good Morning, Ikoma-sensei. Takeshi said entering the room and bowing to the Teacher. Takeshi finds a seat near the middle of the classroom and begins doodling in a notebook.

"Morning, Asako-san," Renmaru greeted with a bow. "Same blessings unto you. I ate my fair share of rice this morning. Wife makes a mean breakfast."
He then Looks to Reiha as the Doji girl entered. "Yep, this is the right place. At least today!" He checks the rolebook, and finds the Crane's name on it. "Yep, gotcha right here."
"Morning to you as well, Asako-san." He made sure to face Fumina so she'd know who he was greeting. Two Asako, huh? Then he greets Takeshi with a wide smile. "Morning, Hida-dono. Well, let;s get started class."
He points to his name on the chalkboard. "In case you haven't had me yet, I'm Ikoma Renmaru. Gonna be your Literature teacher this year, so let's get along yeah?" he asks in his friendly, country drawl.
"Now, some of ya have probably already had classes together so I won't ask ya to introduce yourselves. But I do want each of ya to tell me what you think this class'll be about. What do you wanna get out of a course in literature?"

"Ikoma-sensei," came the smaller voice of the two Asako, Ryoko's smile beaming brightly as she prepared to answer his question: "Is it not said that when an ordinary man attains knowledge, he is a sage; when a sage attains understanding, he is an ordinary man? Because that's what I want to get out of this class."

The young Doji rises and gives the class and her sensei a little bow.
"Being a mangaka is all I ever wanted to be. I hope Ikoma-sensei can teach me to write better stories for my work. Thank you."
Blushing from being the center of attention she quickly sits down again, not meeting anyone's eyes.

Renmaru nods to Ryoko, her quote from the Tao being pretty explanatory for her reasons. He gives Reiha an actual answer.
"I think you'll be able to do just that if you try hard enough, Doji-san. What about the others?"

"Ano..." Fumina stands, bowing to the sensei. "I was just hoping to find some good stories to read, and maybe get a little better at understanding them fully..." she trails off, standing silently for a moment before returning to her seat.
