Fuyuko returns the loving look. "In silver? When I close my eyes I see you in flowers. A bed of lavender." she says with a chuckle. "You got me seeing with my nose."
And then she hears the song, the mentions of her being a star, of the regrets but also of the deep love and the curious throbbing. By the time she is done she lifts her goggles to let the tears out. "I love you so much Hissy-chan"

She gazes as her love chuckles. She reaches in to take a smell, and to be smelled in turn. It was one of the lessons of dating an illusionist who could assume any shape she chose. There were few things that could be hidden by such deception, and Hisui learned early on the value of scent.
"That's one more thing to remember each other by," she says, tilting her head just so. "Lavender and peaches. I'm starting to think our children should bury our urns in a peach grove with lavender planted over them. Silver urns, of course."
Then, without warning, the goggles are removed after the song. The tears flow freely. Hisui moves quick, using her own body to shield the eye from onlookers. There were none, but Hisui wouldn't risk it. The Doji took care to keep that evil eye private, and the Utaku would protect that secret with whatever she had available. The soft words that come after sweep her off her feet in heart, if not in body.
"I love you too, Fuyu-chan."

Fuyko sniffles lightly, wiping those eyes from the tears. "Silver urns...resting together under a peach tree with lavander about. It sounds like paradise even if left there by Emma-o for the rest of time." she says sniffing her love, even in the hot springs that faint hint of lavender still about her.

"Any place with you is paradise," she declares, confident and assured. Another hand joints in the wiping, gentle even with hands calloused by years of holding swords. "Here. Our quarters. Some empty classroom. Some lonely train ride to some remote corner of the Empire. If you are there, it is a piece of Tengoku itself. And I am blessed to know if I reach out to hold it, a hand will take mine."

Fuyu reaches out to take her hand. She allows the glasses to fall again. Her tears stopped for the moment. They come and go with her, far less bitter and sure then they were in the past. Far more burst of delight that could express themselves in no other fashion. She nods. "So...tomorrow then. We tell them about our mission. And tell our friends about our...new arrangement wife of mine."

"Yes. Maybe let them have the Sakura Festival as a last day to enjoy themselves, in case they have no other chance. And yes, we tell the ones most important to us about what's happened." She grins stupidly, happily, at the ring.
She pauses, recalls the talk and the dinner just before. Her mind suddenly realized that with the level of risk the mission posed, their current plans put so many people important to Mako at risk. She and Fuyuko had to be there, to act as blades on the young Mirumoto's side. She could barely justify bringing Uetani and the Akodo. But Akane? If Akane was lost, that was four precious people lost to the Otomo, in the worst case.
"We can't bring Akane-chan," she says, shaking her head in alarm. "If the worst happens, it would mean Mako-chan loses four people she cares about deeply."

Fuyuko frowns. "I understand this. But duty does call. Perhaps there is another we can bring then. I would hate to bring a student and ask them to face such danger." she says with some clear worry. "I already am torn about bringing my daughter but....I would never forgive myself if someone stopped me from going at her age."

"I don't want to bring any students, either. If I knew how, I would convince you to leave Tani-chan here. But you're right. She won't just let us go there alone. And that means we might as well bring Akodo-san with us," she says, letting out a heavy sigh. Her shoulders slump and she rubs her temples in frustration. "I'm sorry. I've soured the mood with talk of this mission."

Fuyu shakes her head. "It needed to be done. But if she can stay it would be best. But if we don't bring some backup we increase the risk for Noboru and Tsuki. I don't know if we can deal with them ourselves."

"I'm not sure either." She sighs. "It seems we have little choice. We don't know the numbers, so we'd need to compensate with skill. It seems we can't get through this without risking the lives of at least three students. And we don't have time to learn how to fight as a coordinated force."
