Hinata smiled lopsidedly and rose to her feet as well, walking up behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist gently, leaning her head into his shoulders. The fact he was washing dishes did not seem to factor into her addled mind.
"I love you. You know that, right?"

Yoshinobu smiled and hummed happily, stopping his washing for but a moment until he continued.
"Yeah, I know. I love you too, Hinata. Thanks for making breakfast, and putting up with my mom and... well the whole embarrassing scene."

Hinata chuckled and broke off the embrace, walking back to grab her plate as well.
"It's fine. Can't always expect everything to go great, neh? Besides, I like your mom."

Yoshinobu suddenly wondered what Hinata would think of his father should the two ever meet. For now, at least, he pushed the thought from his mind.
"One can hope, but you are right. I just hope her alcoholism doesn't end up rubbing off on you," he jests, in good fun. "As cute as you are acting right now."

That elicited another drunken giggle.
"Right? Nothing worse than a drunk shugenja. My mom got drunk once and thought it'd be a great idea to try and ask the fire kami for assistance cooking. Lucky thing my dad had a bucket of water handy."

"Well, maybe you got your cooking skills from your mother then," Yoshinobu barbed at her with a smirk, remembering how she had performed with her eggs a few days earlier.

"That and my stubbornness" she replied, her tone equally jesting.
"But I'll remind you those cooking skills worked fine this morning."

"Stubborn? No, I think you're quite amicable to certain suggestions. Including learning to cook, possibly, which you have improved at."

"Just kidding! You can be stubborn too, but I like that side of you as well to be honest."
Yoshinobu finished cleaning the last of the dishes, drying his hands off with a nearby towel.
