"Sure, why not?" Kobushi says as he takes his spot closer to his designated team. As a precaution, he puts on his helmet. He seems only mildly aware how ridiculous he looks. "Just in case."

Hinata noticed how ridiculous Kobushi looked, but she did not point it out. No, she thought it better he be safe and look like a fool than end up with more head injuries. She just hoped nobody else would comment on it.

Kiki gave Kobushi 2 thumbs up and smiled. The elder fox looked at the younger one asking Should I get protection?
Koko looked in the bag and nodded. I have this cap visor to protect your eyes
Kiki went over and place the visor on her head. Now two players had head gear. Kiki looked at Kobushi and pointed to her visor giving later 2 thumbs up.

Ichiro had a hard time not laughing at Kobushi, the man looked positively ridiculous playing beach volleyball with a helmet on but Kobushi was his friend so Ichiro reined it in and just smiled big for everyone. "Alright everyone ready?" he asked and waited to see all nods before tossing the ball up and serving it his muscles flexing and body slightly glistening with thin sheen of sweat. It was a solid serve and sailed over the net toward the middle of the opposing side's team. |

A few things to consider here. First, Kobushi has never played beach volleyball or any other variant of volleyball before. Second, the Crane has never been very quick to react to things. He was fast once he got going and quite agile for his age, but his reaction times left something to be desired. Third, he was wearing a helmet. A clear invitation for something to happen. So of course the ball hits him right on the old noggin'. Good thing the helmet took the brunt of it. Though he does manage to pass it to one of his teammates. Somehow. |

Ichiro winced when he saw the ball strike Kobushi on the head and suddenly the helmet looked a bit less ridiculous on the boy.
