"Because once you get to know people it's hard to hate them because of a generalized prejudice." Ichiro shrugged.

"Is that what you think? That I'm simply prejudiced against the Crane?"
He looked back to the Akodo a moment, a disappointed look on his features but the tone in his voice was somewhere between annoyance and curiosity. "What else do you think? What else do you honestly think? Of me, of why I do what I do?"

"If you hate an entire clan that's what it is, prejudice, whether or not someone has wronged you or multiple people have wronged you it's still a prejudice. You make a judgement of a person based entirely on what clan they are is textbook. Why do you think you don't hate those two crane? It's because you saw past their clan and saw who they really were." Ichiro was getting more animated, not quite angry but definitely more passionate. "I don't think anything about you Mirumoto-san, I don't know you well enough to judge you."

Noboru just shrugged, then swung his shinai as hard as he could against the sparring robot, the sound of bamboo on metal echoing through the dojo. He clearly didn't have the Akodo's strength, but the fury in his motion was enough that the shinai wouldn't last too long if he kept it up.
"I come here almost every night and vent my frustrations, my anger, on this one robot, hoping that one day I'm finally able to quench the fires that burn inside me."
He slams the shinai into the robot again, harder than before.
"Hoping that one day I'll be able to claim vengeance for the wrong their Clan did to me and mine."
He looks as though he's going to strike again but then stops, taking a deep breath. "But then I think of them... of Doji Hoshiko-chan and Kakita Uetani-san... and I wonder how I can hate an entire clan... and not hate them."

Ichiro sighed as with most people that held prejudice this one was not ready to hear the truth. "Whatever brings you peace."
He latched on to one those names "be careful with uetani-chan, I care about her and realize that she had a hand in what happened but you are also partly responsible for her pain and I will not tolerate people hurting her."

"I have no intentions on hurting Kakita Uetani-san, and I won't hurt Doji Hoshiko-chan again, either," he replied, looking a bit away from Ichiro. "I want them both to be happy, though I know Kakita-san's pain well. I've seen it in her very soul and she's seen mine."
Noboru looks back to Ichiro as an idea forms. "Akodo-san, I'd be honored to see your stance and show you my own."

"See that you dont." He said no hint of threat or anger just a statement.
"You are way better than me at this but I won't say no to the practice." Ichiro shrugged, he wasn't the guys biggest fan but he couldn't turn down practicing with one one the better duelists in the school.

"That goes for you as well. If I ever discover you've hurt her..." He lets the subject drop there, his tone nowhere near as calm as Ichiro's but it was definitely firm in tone.
"And as I said earlier, the Tao and Leadership agree: while you rest, your enemy practices."
With that the Dragon bowed and took his position across from Ichiro, entering the unusual stance he'd likely seen the Mirumoto implement in both kenjutsu and iajutsu classes as well as kenjutsu club.

Ichiro likewise bowed to the dragon and entered a much more traditional stance it was not perfect but it was better than it had been when he first got to the school Fuyuko-sensei had made sure of that.

As he began to assess Ichiro, the Lion could begin to see why so many considered it a sacred art. Through skill alone he could begin to peer briefly into Noboru's soul. It wasn't as strong as what the Dragon had seen in Uetani or the Kakita woman in him, but glimmers and outliers flickered. A young woman, a little older than they are now, seemed to be with the Dragon. He could see a child, just shy of his gempukku, brought to tears for weeks at news delivered to him in dojo and a seed pain and anger that was planted that day.
That child had grown, but that moment still carried with him and the fires it bore will likely consume him some day. Today, however, he simply shifted his feet, no ill will directed toward Akodo Ichiro. He might be rough around the edges, perhaps rude without meaning to be and absolutely awkward in social situations but now? He was calm, assessing the Lion's stance for it strengths and its weaknesses.
