After having a nice, quiet lunch to herself to relax and clear her mind, Utaku Hisui goes to the choir room to start another singing class. She decided to give her students a break this time, as she carried a few materials. She might consider giving them a round to practice the song from last time, but for the time being, the syllabus called for maintenance. So the words up front reflected this.
Today, singing class would be dedicated to caring for a singer's weapon of choice: the vocal chords.

In came Kogeki, looking around causally. He gives a small wave to Hisui as he see's her. "Sensei! I forgot to ask! How did the job I did do? All good?"

She nods as appropriate and gives the young man a smile. "She loved it! I'm sure she'll come looking for you if she ever decides to return the favor. And if I hear of anyone interested, I'll be sure to recommend you."

Mako stepped into the room not long after Kogeki. She hadn't been in this class since the first lesson, and well, it wasn't like she was planning to be a singer, not even in wild dreams. But today of all days she came, humming a happy little tune, and giving a deep bow with a little flourish of her hand, "Sensei, I humbly request to learn your lessons upon this day~" She took a joking stodgy accent, smiling to the Unicorn woman.

Hisui chuckles at the accent. "The request is granted, Otomo-san. Have a seat."
"As you can see, today our lesson is a little different. Previously, we've focused on exercises for the voice. Breath control, endurance, pitch, and the like. Today, we're doing something different. We're going to focus on understanding the signs of when we've pushed our vocal chords to the limit, whether through singing or other uses of it, and how to better care for it." She smiles. "I imagine it will see use not just for your singing, but also any among you who find yourselves putting stress on it often."
"Now, who can tell me what you think are the first indications that your voice is not at 100% health?"

Kogeki frowns slightly as he thinks. "Um..coughing? Is it when you start coughing?" he asks curiously.

"That is a symptom, yes. Though not all coughing is caused by stress on the voice," she answers. "Another possibility is if your voice has become hoarse or raspy, if that's not typical."
"Any other guesses?"
