"I don't insult people I don't know," Chiyo nearly recites. It sounds an awful lot like the one true fact that nobody can challenge, but she has totally insulted the shit out of strangers when she was young and dumb. A lot less so now, however.
"I don't think I'm more of a woman, Otomo-san. I've had fully developed breasts since I was fifteen. If I become any more of a woman I would have to go into hiding." She let that sink in for a moment before continuing in all seriousness. "What does your brother do, exactly? I've only ever seen him throw money around."

"Eh." Mochihime waves away that silly argument. "There's more to being a woman than having breasts, even if the boys sometimes seem to think so."
She grins as she puts the last of her models on display, giving them a critical once-over. Hmm. Not perfect, perhaps she should sort them by class for utility? But for aesthetics by media of origin would be best, no?
That done she sits on Chiyo's bed and leans in conspiratorially.
"Niisama? Oh, he's the assistant of the supervisor in the Harbor of Toshi Ranbo. Big deal, you know! He's not just your regular trust fund baby."

When the Otomo sits by her, the Bayushi raises the book slightly to keep the smaller book within obscured.
"He's assistant supervisor? What does that entail exactly? Sounds like a secretary position to me." It didn't really. She's sure the job is a little more than just taking notes and sorting data.
"Why do you idolize him so much?"

Mochihime rolls her eyes. 'The lady doth protest too much, methinks'...
"He's my twin brother. He may not be as academically adept as me, I am a scientist and an engineer, he's a manager and a social engineer, sure, the 'soft' stuff, but he's brilliant in his chosen fields.
Why do you feel so... strongly about him?"

"I don't," Chiyo all too casually lied. "You and I exist on completely different realms. Your brother and I have had more interactions in the past so it's something to talk about."
She glanced up at the bots and hoped she wouldn't regret this. "We can change the subject if you'd like. Or just not talk."

The Otomo girl shrugs.
"Right, got the message! Delicate subject! Changing it!"
She lets herself falls backwards on her own bed.
"Amaterasu! Boys, right?" She frowns. "You're into boys? You never know in this place! I swear, RHS is a statistical anomaly of the greatest order in that regard!"

She would have made a face if she wasn't purposefully trying to keep her expression unreadable at the moment.
"There's no mystery here, Otomo-san. I prefer the company of men. I hope you aren't too disappointed."
Which is funny because even if Mochihime was into girls, she certainly wouldn't be attracted to this bait.

"Excellent! I am disposed towards heterosexuality as well! Of course I was rather certain of it, otherwise our previous topic of discussion would be rather nonsensical, but it is nonetheless quite the relief you will not become besotted with me. That would be most inconvenient considering we're roommates."
She takes out her phone and calls up her browser...

I guess that’s one clear sign they’re related, Chiyo thought as she re-read the same paragraph a second time. They both think they’re hot shit, and in a metaphorical sense they are. A steaming bag of it. Eh...nah, that’s not fair. Mochihime’s not as bad. At least she isn’t trying to establish dominance 24/7 throughout their dialogue. She knows when to fold, when it’s not worth challenging her anymore.
For some reason last year it left her with a lot of confused feelings. It was very odd. Sometimes when they fought she nearly wanted to get physical with him. And not in a violent sense. She didn’t like it. It was a slip of control. She could not allow it to happen again, so it was best to avoid the brother while she could.
“If I appear to be besotted with you, I’ve either been poisoned or replaced,” Chiyo assured. “By the way, you’re a genius. What do you read for fun? Or do you only read to learn about robots and how to build them?”

"Hmm?" Mochi looks from her phone.
"For fun? Build Fighter forums and articles, but also academic papers and science magazines, I guess. These are my passions, you see. My life. It's not... work?" She raises an eyebrow questioningly. "And being the best means always striving to remain at the top of your field. There are no breaks, or someone will surpass you. But yeah, always seems strange to me to see people reading stuff that, well, has no point?"
She wrinkles her nose. "... Fiction..."
"You can't learn anything from it. There's no... goal, no purpose to it..."
