“Psh, fiction has its merits,” Chiyo half-heartedly defended. She’d have to use better examples than what she did spend her time reading, because romance novels hardly counted as wholesome reading material. “Because everything’s made up, they focus more on how people feel and react in certain situations. And sometimes the worlds the writers create are quite interesting as well. It gives you an insight on the author’s mind, and by extension, other people like them.”
She was mostly talking out of her ass though. Fiction is awesome because it makes you feel, and nothing made her feel quite as good as a story about two star crossed lovers trying to reach out to one another an forge a connection.
They call this stuff trash, and they’re not entirely wrong.
