"I know you wouldn't my precious moon. It was a statement of fact, not one of accusation." She gives Tsuki's hand a small squeeze.
Impossibly blue eyes keep their focus upon the student as she begins to talk of the boys whom have found a place in her heart. She gives no reaction to any of the three listed, keeping whatever her own personal thoughts were locked away so as not to influence the words of her daughter. Once finished the Elemental Master sits quietly, gently stroking her thumb against Tsuki's knuckles.
"It would seem as if each boy has many positive traits that you enjoy about them. I can not help but notice that one, however, has no negatives." Her lips purse a bit, the slightest hint of a smile settling upon them as a memory flutters through her mind. "You know, he's actually challenged your Father three times. I don't know if you'd remember the first time however."

"No, I was fair in my assessment. I gave everyone their faults," She protested, unaware of her own failings. She frowned a little bit but it quickly washed away when her mother spoke of Yoshinobu. She glanced away and tried to quickly recount any memory she might have overlooked or missed. The prince had met her father when she was far younger but she didn't think he had ever stood up o the man before his first and second time in the dojo.
Eventually she looked up and admitted what her mother already knew. "I... don't. What happened?"

A gentle smile settles across her features once more. Looking away from her daughter the shugenja leans back a bit and turns her head to look up at the clear sky above. Sakura petals were lazily making their way towards the ground like pink snowflakes. Hanashiro idly wondered if Yoshinobu remembered the incident as well.
"You had just turned four. You and the young Prince had wandered away to play. Ever since you could walk you would go everywhere he did, clinging to the back of his robes and hiding your face behind his shoulder." The smile grows. It was clear that her mother had a fondness for such memories. "An incident occurred, a dangerous one and your Father immediately went off to collect you and Yoshinobu. Except..." Her eyes settle on Tsuki now.
"It was not your Father as the young Lord knew him. He had never seen Meta like that and when he appeared before you two and went to scoop you up Yoshinobu jumped in front of him, waving his little wooden sword and swearing that he wouldn't let him touch you." A chuckle comes now. "I have almost never seen your Father given pause, but in this moment he did. Who had expected a child barely above his knee to greet such a sight with a determination to protect his daughter?"
Hanashiro is quiet for a moment, reflecting upon the memory. "Needless to say your Father picked him up anyway and spent the entire trip being smacked with Yoshinobu's little sword. He was so perturbed!" A giggle comes. "But ultimately...I think that is why he decided to train the young prince when asked."

Tsuki listened to the tale quietly as her mom relayed the details. Her eyes widened with every word, surprise piercing through the veil of the girls usual On until what had been curiosity was replaced by a humorous smile that could not belie the joy she found in it. By the end of it Tsuki was in a fit of giggling that only time would let her recover from. "I can't believe he hit dad, let alone father putting up with it all the way back. That seems so... soft for him! He would have surely punished any of us if we had acted so defiant."
The priestess smiled, eyes settling on her mom. "I want to say it's hard to believe, but then again that sounds exactly like what Yoshinobu would do. For better or worse," She added on laughing again, though softer this time.

"Well..." Hanashiro smiles a bit as she thinks about her husband. "He is rather soft on small children. It's only once they grow older that his colder exterior shows. Honestly I think the only reason he put up with it is because he knew I would be very cross with him if he had done something to inadvertently hurt Yoshinobu."
Leaning forward the older shugenja places an elbow on her knee upon which her chin comes to rest. "Have you ever noticed the way you smile when you talking about him darling? You light up like a full moon."

Tsuki shot her mom a wild mixture of disbelief and embarrassment. "Moooooom, come on, stop. Now you are just embarrassing me."
Her hands came to rest upon one another in front of her, the top hand gently squeezing the lower one. "What should I do if none of them are to be my husband? I always felt at ease because I never had to think about marriage all that much, but now that one burden is lifted I find a worry in its place."

"Why must marriage be a worry my darling?" Hanashiro tilts her head to the side in curiosity. "I was never betrothed myself, but I never had marriage on my mind. If a love is meant to blossom for you, it will happen. You need only try when you feel it is worth it. If you find a husband, you do. If you do not? That is just as well. Sometimes the best things in life take time."

Tsuki nodded her head along but she wasn't as certain as her mother on that. Then again she wasn't as certain as her mother in general. Years of experience she supposed. "I will keep this in mind, but I'm unsure where to go now. At least in regards to finding a marriage or not. I know Shinsen is sort of always doing his own thing, but I don't really want to be like him in that regard. It would be nice to have someone I could call my own."
She smirked a bit at her mom. "Maybe one of those suspicious date sites would work?"

"Tsuki! You wouldn't dare!" She gives her daughter a mock pout, the sternness in her voice playful."But honestly darling you are getting far to a head of yourself. First you must decided if you wish to peruse any of these boys you bear feelings for. Or have you already decided not to attempt for any of their hands?"

"Well... they are all a bit taken by this point. I don't want to compete with my sister, and I don't think I can convince Seijuro-san to leave his clan and position for me. Besides, they hit it off well enough when I was with them today. I think they might get along better than I will with him. Yoshi-san is... oh heavens that will be complicated. He's already in a relationship with someone else and after I pushed him towards it, after telling him how I might be locked down by the betrothal, I... don't know how he will react. I can't see him being upset but... I think I'll mull over that. I don't know if any answer is right."
She smiled at her mom, and offered up a tiny shrug. "Prince Yoshinobu is currently engaged as well. I don't think I can fairly pursue them, but... I think I might need time on all this."
