"Prince Yoshinobu is right," Tsuki said as she looked upon Tetsuko, "You are my best friend, but you didn't need a piece of paper to know who you are. Even if what we are is washed away away and reality doesn't play out the same, that won't change where you come from or who you are. You will be you. You might have an even better lot in the the other realm than you would in this dream. Things could play out for the better."
She glanced about to Yoshinobu and gave him a nod. They at least could see it the same way. If she had to deal with the blood feud and it's issues once more and then fight twice as hard for twice as long to even get a bit of where she had here, then that would be fine. The fortune of heroes slept after all. "We might all desires things. Our problems fixed or our dreams made reality, but it will cost us a fortune."
She stared at Hinata and looked to her carefully, "What are you talking about Kuni-san?"

Yoko yawned. The girl wondered who this Bayushi sensei was being spoken about. there wasn't any scorpion around.

Tetsuko makes to challenge Tsuki, but catches herself. What the girl said was true, and Tetsuko knew so. But at the same time, the stubbornness of her father's line prevented the her from giving in so easily. She simply shook her head, and sat down with a forceful motion.

"And if I wanted to wake up now?" He brought up his right hand to stop Ayumu from taking any actions on that, instead continuing. "Is even possible for us to wake up on our own and face reality or do we have to wake the Fortune of Heroes first?" Ayumu laughed a little, his sudden hand raising reminding her of some traffic magistrate motion. "Well it'll happen regardless or not. Difference is if you keep your memories and success, or lose it all. I'm just offering you an opportunity." "I think you'd take the same steps you might have taken here," he said, turning to face Hinata with an obviously pained expression. "We may actually know each other, in reality. Our real selves. We just don't know. And I... I can't live a lie, not a false one like this. I could never accept that. What if the real you is suffering, and you could take steps to actually fix it? There's no guaranteeing what Moto-san is suggesting will actually work or anything will go as she has said, whatever we do." Ayumu gave the prince a small pout. "Ouch. I haven't been dishonest in anything here, Iweko-sama. I'm serious when I say I can influence what happens, and what you call a lie won't be one. All of this, everything you do, can and is real if Goemon stays asleep. And then some! If Goemon stays alseep, you'll all wake up and life will go on as you know, for the better. You know honesty better than anyone here I think. Look me in the eyes. Know I am not deceiving you." Fuyuko frowns. "I have faith the fortunes will lead me to where I need to be if I act justly and rightly. I have faith that those I have come to love will be returned to me. But I do still have questions. Is the whole world asleep or only us? What happens to hose awake if he stays asleep. And what happens to a world with no heroes. A fortune has a responsibility, a duty to the cosmic order. That duty is going undone at the moment. More importantly, who gets to influence this dreams. If Mirumoto-san can find his evidence, perhaps others can cause it to be lost. The dishonorable and unjust can control this realm as well. It would have us all act as fortunes. That is...a troubling position." Ayumu raised an eye at the sensei and tried to stifle her giggles a bit. "No, uh, that's definitely not gonna happen. This is a rare, once in a life time event. No evil here, or the dishonorable and unjust working their wicked ways. It's just me and my gift from the heavens."

Noboru walked up to Yokohime as she didn't respond to him and looked her in the eyes. "What was that you just said? Why should Moto-sama return to Yume-do?"
Before she could answer he glanced to Doji Fuyuko, letting what the iaijutsu sensei also sink in. He turned back to Yokohime once more and asked, "Do you know which realm we're in?"

Post by Kuni Hinata on Apr 13, 2018 13:53:20 GMT -5
Hinata was silent for a few moments. She wanted to turn back, to say it was nothing, but she could not. Not now. The words were out of her mouth, and she needed to explain them. Everything she had fought for, everything she had tried to hide away was coming unraveled just hours after she had finally beaten it. She tried to hold against it, but it was too much; the weight of what she had just done came crashing down upon her like a tsunami. She had lost control.
At that moment, P'an Ku cracked her mind.
The first noise she made was half-way between a sob and a chuckle.
"I've had a monster in my head for some time now. An ancient villain haunting my every step and trying to lead me astray."
Her tone began to resolve into a bitter chuckle.
"And with Yoshinobu's help...I beat him. I sent him back to Jigoku where he belonged and now...now we're going to wake. We're going to return to reality. And he'll be right there with me again as if nothing happened."
That was the point where she stopped talking and descended into laughter. Laughter over how stupid she had been. Laughter over how unfair it all was. She could not help it, it was just...funny.

Post by Iweko Yoshinobu on Apr 13, 2018 14:03:56 GMT -5
Hinata stood there in silence for a moment, then collapsed back into her chair. Her expression was one of deep pain, as if Yoshinobu had just stabbed her in the heart. She saw his point; agreed with it, even. However, the risks involved were not ones she could take. If they were to wake Goemon, and return to reality...it was not a trip she could make. Not if the Empire was to remain safe. "Yoshinobu...even if that's true, you know me coming back isn't a risk we can take." If Yoshinobu said they were going to wake Goemon, they were going to wake Goemon. There was no point hiding her secret anymore. Everyone here would forget it once he was awoken, and it was something they needed to know now. "Yes, we won this time, but if we return...we can't know we'll win again. If we do this...I...I need to die here." "We don't even know if you're fine as you are right now. We don't know if we have won anything. To act otherwise without certainty could do more harm than good, Hinata." It wasn't on just him though. "I'm not the real Yoshinobu, my words hold no weight from my station. This is all just a dream and a fabrication, no one is honor bond to follow them." (OOC: This is the GM telling you as much, if it wasn't clear before - I get no say in how this goes) He then bowed in kind to Noboru, before looking back to Ayumu. "I didn't say you were lying. I think you believe with sincerity what you are doing is right. I'm just telling you I disagree with your methods, whatever they are. I don't believe it would be better, and while you might, my existence here is a lie. I can only do what I can to make the best of it." And if I fail the Empire, I know what must be done. He then looked back to Noboru and Yokohime. "Ayumu-san admitted as much. this is Yume-do. I don't think she is lying." "You have no way of knowing if that is the case or not Hinata. As far as we know, you are still being haunted. he could just be gone, because you never got checked." A pause. "So please, I'm begging you to get a hold of yourself."

"Now... wait a moment," Yoshi says to everyone, logic keeping his emotions in check. "If reality and this dream will eventually become one... and soon, if I'm not mistaking Moto-sama's words... can't we find a way to wake Goemon after that? We'd lose nothing, yet still strive to return the Fortune of Heroes to his rightful place? By the same token, if we wake him and he falls into another slumber, who would save him then if none us remember any of this?" It perhaps seemed too simple, to try achieving both positive outcomes, but sometimes the simplest answer was also the most correct.

Hinata continued to giggle, even as she looked at Yoshinobu with a pleading expression.
"But you're right! We need to wake him, and I can't come! You say things may work out as they did here but what if you're wrong? What if we go back and he breaks my mind? I'd be damned! I don't want that!"

"With all due respect, Iweko-ue, one can simply be incorrect. The difference is a lie is stating something you know to be incorrect when you say it and a samurai doesn't lie."
He waited for Yokohime's answer, letting others deal with Hinata and her craziness, that entire matter something he has no control over. Then Yoshi throws in his two zeni and hinata continues to be hysterical and the Dragon snaps at her.
"If that happens, we do our duty as samurai! And we face it without Fear, without Desire and without Doubt!"
His eyes flit toward the Kuni woman, having grown tired of her shameful display while trying to get to the bottom of what's going on to give everyone best and most informed answer he can. "What if we aren't able to wake him, Tamori-san? Wouldn't we have then failed in our duty to the Empire? To the Heavens? What are you willing to give up for personal gain? Your loyalty? Your honesty? Your honor? Your courage?"
(OOC: Just to be clear, Noboru is talking about possibly being unable to wake him in the event of the realms merging.)
