Some rumors say he'd gone missing after his own 'hide and seek' class where, for whatever reason, the students were unable to find him. Others say he and Umeko-sensei ran off to elope before either Shibatsu Eito or Asahina Kangei could wed her. And then there were the crazier rumors that he'd somehow embarrassed himself and was recalled back to the Unicorn provinces by the clan itself.
Or maybe he'd just been busy in the stables with a pregnant mare that was having some difficulties delivering and he wanted to ensure both mother and her foal were well tended to and had reluctantly cancelled his classes as a result.
Either way, as the students gathered outside the dorms they would be greeted by a curious but friendly tone as the stable master of the school, Utaku Genji, cleared his throat to make his presence known then bowed to the students. "What's going on here?"

"We are going to go looking for Ikoma Renmaru-sensei. Hopefully if we find him we can get Goemon to wake."

"Not... all of us necessarily have that goal in mind, Hinata," Yoshi interjects. "At the least, it would be good to know where he is, in case the group decision goes that way. For my part, I'd... just like to talk to him, to see if he has any insight on the situation that Moto Ayumu-sama hasn't shared. Also, as Kobushi said before, if there's a way to find out through talking to Ikoma-sensei what the Fortune himself might want, it could affect all of our choices."

Kobushi nods, listening to all of them. If searching for the Fortune was the task, he's willing to join them in the endeavor. It was a worthwhile task.
He bows to all of the new arrivals in turn, along with a smile for his friends. Then, he speaks. "Do we know who last saw Ikoma-sensei?"

Yoshinobu makes sure to nod and bow to all who join, before turning to Kobushi to answer his question.
"Some of his literature students, around 6 days ago or so from what I can gather. Other than that, no one else seems to know. I'm chalking it up to some kind of side effect of the entire situation."

Genji listened to the group but nodded toward Tamori Yoshi.
"Have any of you thought about the possibility that this is what Matsu Goemon wants? That maybe this is what the Heavens themself want?" He raised a hand a moment, "I'm not saying any of you are wrong for wanting to wake him, but both paths have repercussions and in truth we don't even know what the Heavens' will on this path is."

"Sometimes we have to act without knowing, sensei. I differ to your greater experience than I, but I simply wish to speak to Ikoma-sensei first before postulating anything else," She said before looking to the assorted group and giving a nod of agreement to Hinata.
"That being said, why don't we try looking through the main building first before we look about the surrounding school grounds."

"Yeah, we can't really say anything for sure until we find him. I didn't really search in any particular locations - I just asked some of the staff and his students about him. So a different investigative approach may yield better results."
