"Really? I had her pegged as more of a Crab fan, to be honest. Was it arranged or...did it sort of just happen?" Joo-Eun asks, clearly interested in the gossip. Even though she is unlikely to see any of the people involved ever again, it is still fun to share interesting stories about them. After all, proper samurai are above such petty things as rumormongering and gossiping about each other.

And they Crane's parents never even met the girl, just let the matchmaker do all the work. I bet they were expecting some kind of demure maiden, not an angry wrestle head." She laughed about it as she talked with her friend, waving a fork around in the air, "...You're still not promised to anyone, right?" Woah, a sad switch in tone and demeanor, as the thought crossed Mako's mind.

"Nope. But my mom kinda...pretends I don't exist sometimes and tends to put the little ones first. After all, they actually are following in her footsteps instead of going with the Mounted Infantry," Joo-Eun admits, shrugging slightly, "And Dad wants me to be happy, as I'm his little girl after all, so he isn't likely to remind her about me when it comes to finding a spouse."

"So what you're saying is if I go into politics and make it so we can get married, your dad and mom will approve? Cool, that clears that half of the equation up." She was teasing, as she kept eating more, "My mom has kept my dad from marrying me off yet. Says I need to finish school. Helps that my brother's wife... well." She hesitated, and then stopped talking, "Lets just say that my father has been taught he may not have the best opinion on choosing his children's betrothals, so I'm free and clear for a few years at least."

Joo-Eun smiles faintly at Mako, "I don't see for certain how you are going to change thousands of years of tradition, but if anyone could do it, it's be you, Mako-chan."

"Wooooow, you wanna maaaaarrryyy meeeeee~!" What was said and what was heard was often very different for the girl, but she beamed, then looked down at her phone for a brief second, "Oh my goodness, time has just flown by. I still have to stop by the stables and make sure Mei isn't unhappy..." She considered asking her friend to come with her, but instead she just handed her credit card off to the server with a smile, "I know you don't like horses, but do you want to at least walk me back to school~?"

"Sure, Mako-chan. After all, it'll be good practice for if I become a yojimbo someday," Joo-Eun replies with a grin, "And I can hardly think of anything more worthy of my looking after her."
