Joo-Eun fusses with her hoodie as she loiters around outside one of the nicer cafes in the Restaurant District, waiting patiently for the arrival of one of her friends from middle school, who she hasn't seen in a year. The Utaku bounces around, looking at various people as they linger by the cafe, trying to figure out if one of them might be Mako. So far, none of them have resembled the small Otomo, which was probably fortunate, as a hug by way of greeting to a complete stranger would likely have resulted in a minor incident.

Mako was never the sneakiest of students, but she knew a bit about blending in in a crowd. More about standing out from it, but hey, knowing how to stand out just meant knowing how to do the opposite of blend in. And she had gotten a text from a friend she had missed so much, and she wanted it to be the biggest surprise ever when she showed up. So for a few minutes she just wanted to spot Joo-Eun within the crowd. And then she made her approach, coming up on the side of the woman, looking like she was busy and not looking for someone. And then suddenly the tiny 4'7" girl attacked her old unicorn friend with a hug around her waist, And a squeeze! "EUUUUNNIIIIEEEEE~~~!!!" The tiny pink haired girl yelled far too loud and excitedly at seeing her friend, for what was proper, and kept hugging her as she looked up, "You look just like last time I saw you!!! Except... Taller. Did you get taller? I haven't grown at all since you left... well, not taller at least." Mako blushed softly as she corrected herself, still squeezing her friend in a hug until she was told to let go. Tag: Utaku Joo-Eun

A brief moment of tension, then the familiar voice instantly puts Joo-Eun at ease, a smile forming on her lips. She turns and returns the hug, "Hey, Mako-chan. I'm glad to see you too. And hey, not everyone needs to tower over everyone else. In your case, I think your body is just responding to the fact your spirit and mind are meant more for peace than war. Anyway. How was your last year? Did you ever ask Ide Mike out, because I'm pretty sure she was interested in you. At least, I think she was. I've always been bad at reading those sorts of things."

The little imperial-unicorn blushed at the mention of her former silly crush, "Ugh, Mike was so last year. She was such a flake! Oh yeah, all cool, collected, pretty, except oops, she couldn't manage to make a single date, and always was making the worst excuses." The pink haired girl's cheeks inflated not unlike a squirrels when packed with nuts, "We went out for a few weeks, and then ugh! We haven't talked in months. I've moved on from that silly crush." She assured her friend, as she finally released her, "How about you? How have you been? Any booooys? Or have you finally realized that I am right, and found a cute girl?" She grinned at the taller girl cheekily, "I know a few girls from my class had little crushes on you." She winked.

Joo-Eun rolls her eyes, "No boys, though I keep getting mistaken for one outside of classes, which is...ugh. Anyway, other than that, been well and keeping mostly out of trouble. Apparently, my new roommate and I are going to be competing for shelf space to display models, but that's not a bad thing, I think. At least it means I'm more likely to get along with this one than the one I got last year. Last year, I got stuck with someone who was sneaking boys in at odd hours and...well. I think she dropped out after flunking all her classes last year. Her parents were pissed."

She puffed up her cheeks at the ignoring of the girl option... and then looked genuinely mad about Some thing else. "Ugh! Who is calling you a boy? I'll go beat them up!" The puny girl giggled after her 'threat', obviously not serious, "But seriously, no boys? Ugh don't worry, Mako is here, she will find you a cute boy don't worry. He will even be as big of a nerd as Mako's dear Eunnie~ The girl was giggly and happy as she began to pull the other, "Do you care about where they will be from? Or what about build? Tall? Short? Muscular?" She was bouncing around as she pulled the other girl with her, practically skipping, "I mean, I am sure they will all like you. And I can make you as pretty as I know you are!" The younger student was more than happy to help her friend find a relationship.

Joo-Eun blushes at all the promises from her friend, "Mako-chan, you realize I'm kinda all over the place when it comes to what sort of guy I like. I don't really have a type. With me, it's either the person clicks or it doesn't. And...most of the guys who do click with me end up being the ones who are already taken, given my luck. As to the makeover, remember last time we tried that?"
She refers to a disastrous attempt in Joo-Eun's second year of middle school and Mako's first where they tried the whole makeover thing but wound up drawing inspiration from the wrong sorts of fashion magazines and ended up looking trashy instead. Which is something that happens when you are younger, because kids rarely know better.

Mako rolled her eyes, and just kept pulling Joo-Eun along, "Ugh, have you even really dated a guy? How do you know your type and if it will work or not, when you're too busy fretting about people being dumb and not noticing how pretty and amazing you are to like, just experience it! The imperial gave horrible wonderful advice to her friend as they walked, "What you should do is just find a cure guy with the same interest as you. Maybe one of your nerdy things, like your figurines. And then just walk up, put your hand on their desk, and tell them you're dating. It works for me." Mako seemed so proud of her track record - despite the fact that she had only asked out one person in her life, and she had just mentioned that it turned out to be a failure. But the past summer had proven to be great for people asking her out... sorta. "And then if you don't wanna bother your roommate with sneaking a boy in, just give me a ring and I'll go out for dinner, and leave a spare key for my apartment!" The young student was openly devious as she walked with the older tomboy. "Though... he better be cute, and nice, and just amazing. Don't just settle for someone because you don't think you're pretty enough or some horse-manure like that. You're like, an eighteen out of ten, and you need to find someone worth that!"

"Mako-chan, that may work for you, but it may sound silly, but...I'd like to be friends with someone before trying to date them. I don't want to find myself with someone who looks amazing but has the brains and personality of a sack of rice," Joo-Eun admits, used to this whole 'getting dragged along by Mako' thing despite being the older of the two, "And...um...thanks for the offer of the room. I'll keep it in mind if I do find a guy that I want to go that far with. Honest."
She is not expecting to need that offer, but hey. She does genuinely appreciate the offer, as it's just Mako being a good friend and trying to show her support.

"Oh yeah, personality matters like, way more than looks, you're like so right Eunnie. It's why you're the best!" She stopped skipping, and turned to the other girl and had this super serious expression on her face before suddenly opening her mouth with a, "Clearly we should date, because I have the best personality, and so do you! Bam. Problems solved! I can totally bind my chest and cut my hair short for you!" She had done this before. It was something of a running joke for the little pink haired imperial to ask out her friend. And then start giggling so loud she almost started snorting. The offer wasn't serious, obvious to Joo-Eun who had dealt with it before. "I see like, zero flaws with this plan, personally!"
