Kamidamn the boy is fast, far quicker than her. His blow connects, and she is a little staggered by it, but launches into her own attack. Her blade goes wide though, her eyes narrow. Well this is going to be a short match ((Attack 11 ))

The Crane was fast. Well, most Crane were fast. Especially Kakita. Isao darted in and out, sidestepping her bokken easily before he lifted his sword up again and went for a blow, shoulder to hip. He smiled at her as he fought, thoroughly enjoying himself. There was never anything more exciting than sparring after all. OOC: Attack 23. Damage 9.

Well, she starts to feel the weight of the battle, the Crane might be quick, but less good at pulling his blows than others. She would be bruised tomorrow, still though, she would carry on. Two nil, with a miss against her... Time to get cocky ((Attack 21, after raisesDamage 5
Contested check 18)) She strikes the Crane boy on the hand, attempting to get him to drop his weapon.

She cracked him across the back of his hand, forcing him to drop the bokken. Isao winced but otherwise didn't sound out the pain, which caused him to warily pick up his bokken and adopt a defensive stance. Not pleased by the tactic, Isao wrinkled his nose a bit and focused on her, saying nothing but still a smile remained, albeit more determined. OOC: Contested Strength 7. Defense Stance. Simple Action: Pick up Bokken.

Well, that could at least close the advantage a bit. She was more than a little exhausted, but carried on. He was going to hit her, there was no need to focus on defense. She should have tried to seize the initiative by knocking the weapon out of his hand first. She carries on though, still whirling forward, holding nothing back Attack 34Damage 3

Crack! Isao felt a light sting across his shoulder as she tagged him with her bokken. He didn't linger long, sliding to the side and stepped past her quickly while striking her across the back, his bokken a white blur as they moved quickly together. The young Crane quickly whirled around, his eyes focused on the Badger. OOC: Attack 25. Damage 15.

Was that a rib? First to five... The badger was not giving up. She struck forward, striking out, hopefully to prove herself competant ((Attack 26Damage 4)) She takes the smallest bit of pride that she might have been able to kill him twice over by now. Hopefully the would both be seen as an asset to the team. Her breath is heavy, and maybe a little pained as she speaks "Three all Kakita-san"

Isao was seemingly undaunted up until that point, and it was only then that he was beginning to show signs of being slowed down at all. After he wheeled around on her she lashed out and he felt her bokken across his hip. He moved forward and retaliated afterwards, meeting the blow as he danced around her like water and went to cut her at the hip with the wooden sword. His smile began to falter as they continued fighting, noticing her grow fatigued and how recklessly she continued to fight, despite it all. "Ichiro-san..."OOC: Attack 21. Damage 7.

She is wheezing, far more than she had been in the judo spar. This was more real. Still though, she dashes forward, a Kaia on her lips as her blade strikes, a blow that would land true but for her injuries ((Attack 11)) "Very well my friend. Finish it!"

Kumataro entered the dojo, intending to get some weapon's practice in when he noticed the two students sparring. Students sparring this early? On the first day? And that gaijin looking girl appeared to be injured in some way. He decided he'd watch from the sidelines, both to watch how these students fought and to make sure it didn't get out of hand.
