Fuyu sighs slightly and gives a sheepish smile. "I am out of practice being close and casual but I will try. I ask you forgive me if I am not, even as a child I was described as cold and intense. I will trust that you will give me proper respect when it is needed but for now, we can be calmer. Hmm I wish I knew how to tell if you had a concussion though." she fusses. It would be clear that the dress, the eye-patch, all of it helps make the Crane look imposing, and inhuman because the little Doji, even after all these years has trouble being human for too long.

Fuyu having no idea how to track a concussion amused the student to no end, as she started holding up fingers, "One, nausea. If someone hits their head and starts feeling sick to their stomach or starts vomiting, it's a concussion. Two, dizziness. If a person can't stand on their own after a head injury, or find it hard to stand in place, especially while looking down towards the floor or up into the air, it's a concussion. Three, confusion. If they are lost, dazed, or seem to not recognize what is happening, it's a concussion. Four, a ringing in the ears, usually associated with headache, not unlike tinnitus, following a head blow. Yep, a concussion. Five, sleepiness, fatigue. If you wanna go to sleep right after getting hit in the head really hard, it's a concussion."
With a teasing smile, she held up her five fingers, and seemed proud of herself, "You'll note that it's wanting to go to sleep, not wanting to sleep with cute teachers." She teased the girl, not blushing this time - perhaps the clearest indicator of the fact that she was entirely joking on that matter, "I would have known if I had a concussion, Yuko-chan, but thank you for worrying about me." She hopped herself up onto the nurse-bed, laying back - glad that she was in pants and not a skirt, "I'm no expert, but I'm pretty good at taking care of people when they're hurt. I like making sure my friends are okay."

Fuyuko blinks. "Oh, well then. I have mostly been on the receiving or giving end of injuries. Never treating them. I have gotten many concussions while training with Bokken. And many scars while dueling. This one is glad you are alright however. And your nose is fine as well?" she asks gently.

At the second line of questioning, she moved her hand up and touched her nose. It was slightly tender, but not bad, "Mm, it doesn't feel broken. If it was it would still be bleeding. I might have popped a blood vessel deeper inside, which would explain the blood. It might bruise if it was closer to the front of the nose, but it feels like the pain is kinda deep. I think I mostly hit the top of my nose, which is good." She pinched the bridge of her nose, up high between her eyes, and made a little noise of pain, "Nnngh. Yes. Definitely hit it up high. Ice should prevent any swelling, so it shouldn't be bad." She moved herself to the little fridges every nurse's office has, making herself an ice pack. "If you ever get injured and you don't want people to know, I can't promise to heal you with magic or cure everything in an instant, but I'm here for you, Yuko." The student smiled happily at the sensei, "I wouldn't mind nursing yu back to health!"

Fuyuko gives a small nod. "I thank you, but I would not ask you to touch my blood. And I can occasionally heal quickly on my own." she says trying not to get into the oddness of her physiology. She glances at the nose again with concern before nodding. "I am glad you are doing well however. I tend not to get injured save in a fight in which case If nobody else can, I will ask for your assistance."

Hopefully no one would ask any questions if they walked in, "Are you secretly a magical Yuko? Should I be worried that touching your blood is dangerous for me? Because I mean, I'm normally not squeamish around it, so warnings can be important!" She didn't seem that worried despite how the teacher made it sound, "Besides fighting, and being cute, and running into students in the halls, and reading nerdy manga, what do you like to do for fun, Yuko-chan? I like to dress up, and go shopping and stuff. And ride my horse, Mei."

That makes her flinch slightly. Maybe she was somehow magical after all? Still she shakes her head. "I would not wish that dishonor on anyone like that. But besides that I enjoy fashion and poetry. I am quite fond of the death haiku as a form of poetry."

"Uugh, I'm terrible at writing poetry. But everyone says I'm pretty good at recitation. I've apparently got a pretty good sense of tempo and timing, and a nice voice..." She didn't mean to brag, but it was just natural to talk about one's talents, wasn't it? "But gosh, I can't write a proper haiku myself if you give me a week. They always are so terrible. But I'd love to hear yours! I'm sure it will send me swooning over your artistry."

Fuyu glances down. "They are a bit morbid. I write a haiku every time I duel in case I don't make it and sometimes I write love poems to Emma-o. I can share if you are still interested."

Mako choked on... air? Terror? Fear? Something definitely seemed to scare her about the idea of writing a poem every time she thinks she might die, "That, uh, that is pretty morbid, yeah! But, I suppose it's a reality you live with...?" She didn't really know what to say, her family didn't really duel, they had yojimbos for that. And she hated the idea of dueling... last time she was challenged to a duel, she allowed herself to lose that argument, because she didn't want anyone getting hurt. Same with the time before that... and the time before that. She Imperial didn't have a yojimbo for a reason, and it was because she hated the idea of someone getting hurt for her, "I would still love to hear them though, to see where the heart of my dear Yuko lays, in the moments before she may pass." Was she flirting and calling her dear Yuko intentionally, or was that just how loose and casual the girl naturally was?
