"At peace more often then not. Death in a duel is an honorable way to meet Emma-o. Doing so in the course of my duty even better. I simply hope my opponent is skilled enough." she offers gently. "If allowed, I have collected the poems of those who have fallen to my blade as well. As a way to honor them for their Courage and Duty."

Mako seemed... slightly uncomfortable with the topic, and finally opened her mouth, "If I may be honest, Yuko, I... I am not a huge fan of the dueling arts themselves." She bows her head to the woman, and seems truly apologetic as she looks back up at the woman, "I know many who train to be the greatest at them, to bring honor to their clan, but I cannot appreciate you for how great you are, and for that I do apologize." She bit her lip, "I have been challenged seven times in my life, and all seven times I have allowed myself the dishonor of being 'proven' wrong in the battles of the court, because I cannot stand the idea of my ideals being backed with blood, especially that of another. I do not mean to insult your duty, or your life for what it is, only tell you that... I am sorry if I ever do not seem to understand why you do it. It is simply because I do not."
The idea of anyone dying because of her was terrifying to the young girl, but she didn't seem scared of the sensei that had taken many lives... only sad.

Fuyuko cocks her head slightly. "I participate mainly in duels of law now. Ways for criminals or the accused to prove their innocent or guilt with blood. I stand for the state as their prosecutor. It is my art and I understand it bothers some. Some who do the act are bothered as well. I simply can see no better end for myself then in a duel. It is why I taught myself to duel in a dress, so I could meet Emma-o as a Doji."

"I would like for your end to be peaceful, at a long and happy life, together with someone you love and enjoy the company of, who makes you happy unto your very last moment." There were no smiles, no giggles, none of the jovial nature of the young girl, as she stared at the Doji with sad eyes, that spoke so many words that could only be read by readers of minds, "I would believe such a life would be a much better path, personally." She was speaking genuinely, her heart was fully in the matter, and she was looking at Fuyuko with eyes that spoke past her age, perhaps. Or perhaps she was just a child with naive fantasies. Fuyu takes a deep breath. "I understand this is...how many wish to go. It is not what calls me. I am at peace on the dueling grounds. I am one with the void. Already I have found more happiness in my life then is expected. I hope to find more. But when I am called I will answer. I am a Bushi of the Kakita School. I am a Magistrate of the Crane and I am a Samurai of Rokugon. I don't expect you to understand yet, or ever, few ever do. And if I am not fated to walk that path, I won't. But if I am, know that It was a moment of happiness for me."

She bit her lip. She bit her tongue. She had to hold down a lot of emotions... And she stands, moving towards the sensei. Her smile is back, but it's a little sad. She doesn't understand. She probably never would. She would probably cry, the day her new friend died, even only knowing her for so short a time. She would cry, and sob, and send threats the way of Meido. But she couldn't challenge the woman's determination, her duty, her identity. Mako was already attached in her own way, and she knew it, as she moved her arms to hold the sensei's shoulders, "When that day comes, I will try to remember these words." The moment was ended with a movement Mako should have done, but did anyways as she touched her pink lips to the teacher's own. It was for a moment, long enough to not be a quick instaneous peck, but short enough to leave one stunned before she pulled away, "I'll take that, just in case." She left. There was no blushing, no giggling as she did so. She walked out of the nurse's office, and didn't turn around.

Fuyu shares the sadness. Nobody ever seemed to understand her desire to be back there. That feeling of not being all here even when she had found peace with herself. Still the young girl was a friend and she needed someone and Fuyu remembered what it was like to feel like nobody was there for her. "Until that day consider me your freind. And even after that day" she says solemnly, accepting the bit of contact as the seal on her contract. And then suddenly she feels the contact on her lips, eyes opening wide in surprise. Before she can reprimand the girl or protest the girl is walking away. Fuyu takes her kerchief and dabs her lips to remove any of the pink. The girl was cute and far to insistent, but she needed guidance and a freind. A freind who could be stern but also forgiving.
She had no plans to die anytime soon, but if she did it forgivable that the girl would not have the regret of never having done that. She would just have to be more guarded in the future, and make sure to keep this innocent happy well adjusted girl safe from the world. With a small prayer to Emma-o to add that to her list of duties, she continued along her path. /scene
