Eito shakes his head. "Of course you make the most money. But it is also the least stable, the most reliant on the word of others. A man sells me a plot of land I have that plot of land. A man sells me bonds and I have the word of his Government that the bond is valid. That Government collapses and....I have nothing. I suppose I also just enjoy building things. Not that I don't do finances myself, it would be a foolish disadvantage not too, but I find it is easier to rely on solid property. Especially when people never really trust you. But I do hope my class can offer new Insight into your previously learned financial philosophies."

"Shiatsu-sama, sadly I must disagree. My family among other things issues bonds of this type and most governments come to us for loans. These governements exist just because we want them to pay their debts..." He countered.
"I doubt I would be able to explain how irrelevant land is for us."

The Spider shrugs. "It seems then like they must have trust in you. A better situation I feel, your family seems more stable. But really? I am curious since land is quite relevant for me. If you have so much excess that it seems worthless I should look into buying some. The main secret is ..and I am sure you might disagree. Money is worthless. Until you spend it. It is all about what it can get you. Redemption. Honor. A soul. A clan. All purchasable commodities to the wise businessman."

"Shibatsu-sama have you ever been in the Burning Sands. That land was also worthless until combustion was developed. Money is the definition of value. These days without it, nothing is possible." He disagreed.

Eito nods. "Ah difficult to develop. Understood. Same with the lands we were given. But I agree that money can buy more then any other currency, it's one of the most effective but not the only one. I find that viewing money as a form of power rather then as itself offers unique insight as to how to use it. There are many deals my competitors thought I was being foolish on because I lost out on money but ended up gaining more power in the trade."

"Most people are uneducated fools with little understanding of what's going on around them." He agreed.
"As the little prophet said ehen two persons are quarreling the smartest is by default to blame."

Eito nods. "It is why for the Spider, Insight and Knowledge are two of our core virtues. By understanding the situation and oneself, one can see the truth behind events and see what it is you truly desire and what cost it will take."

"Ah, yes Shourido. I've read about it. I think though that you are it's first practitioner that I encounter." He commented.

Eito sighs. "Many consider it dishonorable. They aren't entirely wrong, but not right either. It is the birthright of the Spider and our gift to the Empire."

"I can see their reasoning. As an outsider looking in, I can also see that in most parts it is more reasonable than Bushido. On the other hand it has some marketing flaws." He reached into his pocket and pulled three cigars. He offered the one to the Spider without saying anything.
