Umeko was lost in thoughts following her morning as she toilled thw fields by the greenhouses in preperation for the start of the semester.
The teacher wore very servant-looking clothes. Baggy slacks and a loose long sleeve shirt whose sleeves she'd rolled up. Her left arm was wrapped in badages as usual, and she wore a pair of sturdy gardening gloves. She was glad it wasn't too sunny, which meant she didn't need to wear a hat. Her short brown hair fluttered freely around her face as she turned the earth. A few bags of fertilisers waited by the entrance to the gardens tto be used.

Suzaku entered, his burlap, sturdy brown kimono and hakama arranged for easy movement and wide brimmed kasa hat on his head to keep off the sun. His calloused hands flexed, ready to begin a day's work checking out the garden and seeing if he can sneak a patch of daikon somewhere.

Walking to ve\iw from behind the green house was an individual draped in what appeared to be a rather hygienic looking garment over a school uniform. A large apron, bright rubber gloves, a watering can, a small shovel &, lastly a potted plant.
From the figures mask one could surmise he was of the scorpion clan, upon spotting the other figure within the room, his rather stoic expression turned to a gleaming smile, "Ah Hello there Sensei, I wasn't aware I was going to find you so soon this year."

Umeko jumped slightly at the voice. So lost jn thought had she been, the gardener had not even noticed the young sparrow walking around the gardens, nor the scorpion aproaching.
She turned, smiling warmly at the young man. "Ahh, Bayushi Yoshikatsu-san. Good morning, I hope you had a plesant summer." The teacher then glanced at the sparrow, chuckling as she saw him look at the grounds with interest.
"Hello, there." She greeted the unkown student. "I'm afraid there is nothing planted here at the moment. Are you interested in gardening, perhaps?" It wasn't much of a wild guess considering his appearance or clan, but far would be from her to assume anything.

Holding within his hands was an Echinacea plant, it was most likely he came with the intent to set a side a place to plant the herb. "I Had a wonderful summer, to be honest though, I much prefer our time here in school.", with a soft laugh he would look onto the open field. " I don't suppose you would allow me to set up a small herb here?"

The sensei gave the young scorpion a smile, shaking her head slightly. "I'm sorry, this will be the area used for my class, as you know." She stabbed the earth with her pitchfork, tilting her head toward the greenhouses.
"I have an area at the back of Greenhouse Two reserved for students with special projects. As you've proven yourself an excellent student last year, I'm sure I could find you a small plot. Just be sure not to touch anything else, I already have a few other students using the area."

Bowing his head deeply, he gave thanks to her "Thank you so much for your kindness sensei. I will continue to meet your expectations this year!" he was rather adamant of pleasing you yet, it always he underperformed placing himself 3rd highest in every assignment.

From the previous year the Scorpion had spent studying under her tutelage,he might have gathered that Umeko didn't care much for her student's grades. Her favorite students seemed to be the ones that were the most motivated and dedicated, even if they might not be natural geniuses or always have the best grades.
Her smile was warm as she answered the Bayushi. "I am certain you will, Bayushi-san. I look forward to seeing what you can bring to the class this year again." She glanced back toward the Suzume that was stalking around the area, before looking to Yoshikatsu. "Can you find your way to the reserved areas in Greenhouse two, or would you like me to show you?"

Post by Kuni Hinata on Jan 14, 2018 13:34:52 GMT -5
Hinata had heard about the fields outside of RHS's greenhouses, and was curious to see them. Actual farms, even small ones, were a rare sight where she grew up. The natural kami had been blasted from Kuni lands millenia ago, and things would only grow if planted in controlled environments or in one of the few places where the kami had returned.
As such, a tilled field was an alien sight to her. Thus, like many things foreign to her, she felt a need to study it. It was there she found a Scorpion boy chatting with what appeared to be a peasant woman. One of the field's tenders, no doubt. Despite her lowly status, however, it was likely the woman knew far more about farming than she did, so Hinata wagered it was best to treat her with respect. As for the Scorpion...well, Hinata did not relish the idea of talking with him, but she would put up with him. No need to be rude if he was not going to be, after all.
Hinata bowed to both of them, and waited for them to finish talking.

Umeko noticed the crab, noddig her head back in greeting. Something that would have been incredibly rude had she actually been a servant. "My my, I don't think I've often had such eager students." She said with an amused smile. "Not even time for class, and already so many of you wandering to the gardens. Good morning, Kuni-san. I don't believe we've met, is it your first year?" She asked the young girl, smiling warmly.
